Survivor S35 Power Rankings (Top 12)

Nov 8, 2017 by PowerRankings101
imageI’ve never been more blindsided by a Survivor vote reveal as much as this in the history of the show. Not because Ali wasn’t on the outs…she was. But because the show edited JP as the clear boot this week, from Ryan making comments about JP’s horrible gameplay, to JP boasting about his challenge strength, to Jeff Probst even criticizing JP’s quietness at tribal council. I thought JP was a sure goner watching this tribal council, but unfortunately, I was wrong and one of my favorites, Ali, was sent packing. It’s time for the merge…so who will come out on top? And who will fall victim to this big game changer?
Quick Pre-Merge Analysis: Here’s how it stands now…Right now, Ryan has Chrissy and JP. Chrissy has Ben on the other tribe, JP has Ashley on the other tribe, and Ryan has Devon and Lauren from his old Hustler tribe, who also happen to be working with Ashley and Ben on their new tribes. So we’re potentially looking at a mega alliance of Ryan, Chrissy, JP, Ashley, Devon, Ben, and Lauren. This could even include Dr. Mike if Ben and Lauren pull him over, AND Desi if Ashley can pull her over. Wow. That puts Joe, Jessica, Desi, Mike, and Cole on the outs- aka the Healers. But within those Healers, there are two idols (Mike and Joe). On the other hand, both Joe (in the past) and Cole (currently), have ticked off the other Healers. So it’s looking like the craziest merge in a while, and I am taking a shot in the dark going into these rankings. The Healers seem to be the minority, but with the two idols and all the newly forming bonds developing after the tribe swap, literally ANYTHING is possible. Phew, that was a lot…Let’s rank our final 12.

12. Cole Medders- Cole seems to be the most probable boot. If he’s ticking people off on a tribe of 5, there’s going to be a way bigger issue when it’s a tribe of 12. And being in an obvious showmance is a threatening thing to most others. The only thing keeping him from going home would either be an immunity win or the fact that he previously had a bond with Joe in the past, and Joe has that idol. But to use it on Cole would be incredibly idiotic of Joe. Cole better hope for immunity.

11. Jessica Johnston- I think if Cole doesn’t win immunity, Jessica could be in a lot of danger. She is the second (and better) half of this showmance, and taking a shot at her would be smart, considering her strategic game is way more impressive than Cole’s. Being all cuddly with Cole after he passed out was not the right move for her, because now Ben and Lauren know she isn’t going to backstab Cole. Until Jessica either votes out Cole or finds an idol of her own, she isn’t safe by any means.

10. Ben Driebergen- I think Ben is going to be set on getting Cole out. This could backfire if Dr. Mike decides to stick with his past Healers, because Ben is obviously a physical threat and is very vocal about targeting Cole. Ben seems like the prime candidate for getting blindsided by an idol. I hope I’m wrong.

9. Desi Williams- I think Desi is safe. She hasn’t gotten as much air time as everyone else, so I don’t know where she stands. But if the Heroes and Hustlers are looking to throw votes a Healer’s way in fear of an idol, they may go for Desi, who is the least likely to have an idol, and is probably the most likable of the Healers.

8. Ashley Nolan- Ashley could be in a really good position this week. Having Alan gone, she definitely won’t have the consistent “power couple talk” surrounding her and JP. But Chrissy and Ben were never too fond of her and JP, and Chrissy seems to have JP in her back pocket. Is Ashley 100% safe with her past Heroes? I don’t think so. I think she’d be the first one they’d sacrifice.

7. JP Hilsabeck- With the amount of alliance members Ryan and Chrissy have, JP may not be a necessity to them. While he is loyal, and doesn’t seem to be a secret spiller like Cole, he is still a physical threat, and the physical guys sometimes get targeted right as the merge hits. He’ll either be targeted for that or be dragged along to the end by Ryan or Chrissy, as so many unstrategic goats have been in the past.

6. Devon Pinto- Devon is probably excited to team back up with Ryan. But we saw the past few episodes that Ali and Chrissy didn’t get along, and that led to Ali’s downfall. If Devon and Chrissy don’t mesh well, would Ryan flip on Devon too?

5. Ryan Ulrich- Ryan probably did the best thing for Ryan. He got rid of the only person who had any animosity toward him. But now, he has to explain to Lauren and Devon why he sent Ali out. If he can explain himself well, he’s in a good position. No one knows how ruthless he really is, and until he makes a big move again, he should be able to survive for some time on his social game and jokes alone. He just has to make sure not to play too hard out of the gate, or he’ll be sent out a la Debbie or Zeke from last season.

4. Lauren Rimmer- Lauren is in a great position, as I’m sure no one is going to be threatened by her this early in the merge. She’s very convincing, but plays a pretty under the radar game, and I think Lauren is a loyal person to have in an alliance, so her previous allies Ryan and Devon, along with her new allies Ben and Mike, probably won’t flip on her so soon. She’s a number.

3. Chrissy Hofbeck- Nobody is going to feel threatened by Chrissy right now. She’s not going to win any challenges, and is putting on the “sweet mom” vibe. Of all the people without idols, she seems the safest.

2. Mike Zahalsky- Mike is awesome. He has an idol, so he’s safe. But I do fear that Mike will side with Jessica and Cole since Jessica helped him find the idol, and we know that Cole has a big mouth. Sticking with Ben and Lauren would be his smartest move going forward, and I hope he sees that. If not, he’ll probably need to play that idol sooner than expected.

1. Joe Mena- Joe found another idol. While he may cause people to be wary of him, he ain’t going anywhere. That idol is the best thing you can have in the merge. He already has his second idol and is going to look for a third. This guy may not be the most pleasant of the bunch, but he’s definitely playing hard and succeeding, for now.

Only two people are safe this week: Joe and Mike. Everyone else is vulnerable. It looks like the Healers are in the minority, and out of them all, one of them eats way too much food and is part of a pretty solid duo. Let’s hope I’m right this time.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Home- Cole Medders
