so i've only shared this with my close friends til now but 3 and a half months ago i was admitted into hospital for an emergency appointment after a day of puking blood. id had a full day of puking black substance, which i later found out was digested blood, and id also puked a bright red blood clot which was the final straw and when i realised i needed immediate help. my stool was also completely black.
anyway when i arrived into hospital they had to do loads of tests on me that night and i ended up having to stay in hospital stuck to a machine for half a week. after several tests, they finally did a gastroscopy and told me i had a stomach ulcer which had burst so i had been internally bleeding. i hadn't lost enough blood to need a transfusion or anything, but thats only because id went into hospital straight away.
since getting out i've been on medication which i've had to take twice a day which reduces stomach acid, as apparently i produce too much of it. i also had to drastically change my diet but things have been gradually improving in that department. ive had to go into hospital three times since then for further endoscopies, an MRI scan and to check whether its been getting better. it's been a very slow stressful process of gradually getting a bit better and today i had my 3rd gastroscopy. i got told my stomach ulcer has FINALLY FULLY HEALED!!! i now only have to take my meds once a day and can start doing things as normal again!
anyway yeah im very happy about that and felt like sharing my triumph. but ye if anybodys reading this and you notice that your stool is black, or you are puking black substance, or you notice a blood clot in your sick, then please see a doctor IMMEDIATELY. im so glad i got it checked when i did.
I am so sorry you had to go through that but you are a SOLDIER and I am not surprised you beat it. very happy for you! puts things in perspective doesnt it eh? much love
ahh brad i'm so happy you're better now! i struggled with stomach ulcers a lot when i was younger and they are NOT fun. fortunately never got to that point but i can only imagine the pain you went through! thank god you're recovering! hugs
So glad you are ok and recovering. Its great you courage to get it checkout out, a lot of men in particular ignore health problems. Thanks for sharing, and great news you are now pretty much back to yourself :) < 3
