Over the last 10 days I've been asking Tengaged users if they've recently had thoughts about quitting or leaving the site altogether. Over 105 of you responded, and I have the (slightly troubling) results!
Agree to some extent: 80.4%
Disagree to some extent: 16.8%
Neither agree nor disagree: 2.8%
If you've been on this site long enough, you know Tengaged isn't what it used to be. Games that once had charm are now riddled with multis and premades. Blog page traffic has gone considerably down, and the large fanbase of Tengaged users has considerably thinned out. What's strikingly concerning is just how poor the situation has gotten, given that over 4/5 users have thought about leaving Tengaged altogether.
The fact that the percentage is so high should greatly concern randomize, since an active fanbase is what ensures that your website will be around for years to come. So what's the specific cause of people's willingness to leave? Well, let's list them out!
Among the main reasons, users want to quit Tengaged as a result of...
- Lack of moderation
- Vast amount of multiple accounts
- Games are "stale", and updates are few and far in between.
- Long wait times to play games.
- Constant negativity from other users
- Friends / Group Game Hosts have already left
- Loss of interest
And while there are a small percentage of users who state that none of these issues bother them enough to consider leaving, most of Tengaged is understandably frustrated. All of the issues boil down to a severe lack of involvement coming from randomize. And while there may be a number of things ongoing in Carlos's life that make involvement extremely difficult, his website is suffering without him.
Issues concerning the mod panel have been made undoubtedly clear, therefore moderation cannot take action the way they would hope to. As a result of no moderation, the amount of multis and issues concerning "hacking" have skyrocketed. Because more games have more multis, less people feel the need to play them. Because less people are playing games, you're left with a fanbase of users who breed negativity when they feel the site has failed to meet their needs, and more people are logging out for good as a result. One issue leads to the next, and at the end we're left with less and less people feeling the need to stick around.
Randomize, if you truly want to keep Tengaged up and running, we're begging that you'll return to the site and begin taking some small steps towards improving and reviving the website. We understand that issues concerning the site aren't going to be fixed overnight. These issues are going to take lots of effort on both halves of the equation, and it's going to require a lot of patience for either side. We're asking that you look into the issues surrounding the moderation panel, fix the problems, and put your trust into users who you know will have your best interest at heart for protecting and preserving a safe environment for users to express their love for all things reality television.
Fixing the mod panel is the first big step to bringing this site back together. We cannot hope to grow until the biggest issue is addressed and handled with properly. After we can guarantee maintenance for the website, we can start looking at ways to improve Tengaged, and help our website grow from a few hundred to a few thousand active users.
Your users know what they want. They know what the problems are and they're still giving you the opportunity to take action and propel Tengaged into something greater. However, users can't wait forever for action to be taken. If you want to ensure that 80% of your users aren't clicking the logout button on purpose, then it's time to work with us and discuss ways for us to revive a rapidly dying site.
Nevertheless, i'm hoping that those of you who have been voting in the polls and have been paying attention to the blogs are all as willing as I am to make Tengaged great again. Your feedback and responses have been wildly useful in determining how we can improve the site, and i'm keeping my fingers crossed that Carlos will take your feedback and use it as fuel for rebuilding Tengaged.
Were there any other issues with Tengaged that you think are causing users to leave? Are there ways we can start moving forward again? Let me know what you think in the comments below. And as always, i'll see you guys in the next ten days. :)
tbh im not that surprised by the result. I mean the only main reason I'm still here is cause I have a blog game going, and that I play group games very occasionally.
Yeah it kind of lost interest for me a while back ,ive left twice , most recently for 2 years, it just seems like rando gave up for the most part, the amount of bots and cheats sapped the fun out of the site and now its like a forgoten land 馃ぃ
