JB: This is Big Brother 3. We aren't playing around this season. This will be the toughest game in Big Brother history. Being the Head of Household will come with more responsibilities than ever before, and the Power of Veto will shake the game like none other. Each week, the houseguests will evict one of their own, until there is just one person standing to claim the $500,000. This season, sixteen people think they know the game they have signed up for, but they have no idea what is about to unfold. This is Big Brother 3.
JB: This season is a game unlike any other and this season is unlike any ordinary season. This season, Big Brother is not playing around.
Farrah: Woo.
JB: Now, today, is your first HOH competition. So, please head to the backyard as we are not going to waste any time crowning our first HOH.
*HGs go to backyard*
JB: Houseguests, the power is up for grabs. Before we get going, I am going to give you a Big Brother trivia lesson. In the first two seasons, the first HOH has failed to see Day 40 in their respective season, and neither one of the first HOH's have made it to the jury. Also, this season, the HOH will have more responsibility than ever before. The HOH will be safe from eviction this week, this is not a trick. Because this is Season 3, the HOH will nominate not two, but three people for eviction. And with big power and big responsibility comes big consequence. If you are nominated by the HOH this week and you survive, you may receive a huge advantage in the game.
Derek (DR): JB is dropping bombs on us right now.
Temperance (DR): I'm currently shitting my pants.
Joshua (DR): This is making HOH seem less and less desirable, so what is the catch?
JB: Here is the deal. I can see by the looks of many of your faces that you do not want this HOH, so I am going to give you the opportunity to throw this competition. If you do not want to be this week's HOH, raise your white flag. If you want to be this week's HOH, you will be put in a raffle for the first HOH of the season. The first HOH will be determined off of pure luck, but you can take yourself out of the running if the responsibility and consequence is too much. Big Brother will not reveal whether or not you threw the competition or not. That will be up to you if you choose to disclose that information. I will give everybody ten seconds to decide whether or not they want in.

JB: Big Brother has seen where everybody stands, and he has entered the people's chips of those who have waved their black flags in a bag.
Emily (DR): I chose black because I feel like there won't be many challenges for me to win, so let me get power while I can.
Tom (DR): I came to win, I had to try and win.
Samantha (DR): Being the first HOH is difficult enough, with having to put all of this added pressure on. I'm out.
Joshua (DR): I really hope my name is on that chip.

EMILY! Congratulations, you are the first HOH of the season.
Emily: What?!?!!
Farrah: Congratulations!
Tom: Good job!
Christian: Congrats!
Emily (DR): OMG! I'm the first HOH! I don't think there was any scenario in my mind that had me winning the first HOH before I came, but here I am! I've got my key and I'm ready to go!
JB: Emily has a tough week ahead of her, and the rest of the houseguests are going to be bombarded with the season-long twists over the coming week. By week's end, one of Emily's three nominees will leave the house, but then the houseguests will have a difficult decision to make. Between the two surviving nominees, they will give one of them immunity until jury, and one of them will receive an automatic nomination until jury. They will face the block every week until jury and the only way to get off is with the veto, which is where this season really takes a turn. The Power of Veto is taking a different approach this season. The houseguests are normally accustomed to the Golden Power of Veto, which will come into play this season. However, each week, the houseguests will play for a different power of veto. There will be twelve different types of POV's seen throughout the season for twelve different POV's.
Here are the twelve vetoes that will come into play this season:
1. Golden - Holder can remove a nominee from nomination block. HOH names replacement.
2. Diamond - Holder can remove a nominee from nomination block and name replacement.
3. Secret - Identity of POV holder remains anonymous as holder can remove a nominee from nomination block. HOH names replacement.
4. Extended - Holder can remove a nominee from nomination block on eviction night. HOH names replacement.
5. Forced - Holder must remove a nominee from nomination block. HOH names replacement.
6. Double - Two holders can remove a nominee from nomination block. HOH names replacement.
7. Triple - Three holders can remove a nominee from nomination block. HOH names replacement.
8. Hidden - Activates a POV hidden in house that can be played 2 weeks after discovery. HOH names replacement.
9. Do Not Replace - Holder can remove a nominee from nomination block. No replacement.
10. Fools' Golden - Veto is cancelled and leads immediately to an eviction vote.
11. Future - Holder can not use POV at time of winning. Must play 1-2 weeks after won. HOH names replacement.
12. Platinum - Holder can evict any player from game. HOH names replacement from evicted houseguests.
JB: The vetoes will come in at different points throughout the season. Three will be available to be played this week (Golden, Double, Triple) and will be drawn for at the POV player draw. How will this affect the game and the houseguests? Who will Emily nominate for eviction? Find out next time on Big Brother!
