Survivor S40 Power Rankings (Top 8 + 11 EoE)

Apr 29, 2020 by PowerRankings101
imageThis past episode was the Tony show. Tony not only found an idol, but managed to almost get extracted, until he was able to get fire tokens from Ben, Jeremy, and Nick, win immunity on his own, flip the vote on Sophie, and looks to be building another spy shack—in the sky. This is an insane season, and Tony is feeding into the insanity, and looks to be the clear frontrunner with Sophie out of the picture. Of course, Natalie and Parvati are doing some damage on extinction, and we have big players left like Kim, Jeremy, Sarah, and Denise. I can’t wait to see how this week plays out.

8. Kim Spradlin-Wolfe- Kim seems to be leading the charge against Tony/Jeremy, and has some backup in Ben, Denise, and now probably Sarah. I think her ammunition is good, but because she is pretty vocal about going against Tony, I can’t help but worry that Tony could just combat her with his idol and send her home. She could win immunity on her own, and potentially be able to sway Michele or Nick to her side, but it may be too late. Flipping on ally Jeremy seems to be a mistake for Kim, as she’ll likely get lots of heat and is super vulnerable.

7. Ben Driebergen- Ben was shown getting on Jeremy’s nerves, and was Jeremy’s initial target. By the looks of Jeremy’s face, he looked pretty displeased with the fact that Ben voted against him, and I could definitely see Ben and Jeremy going at it this week. Ben just hasn’t been as easy to root for this time around, and I worry that, should Kim win immunity, Tony and Jeremy’s alliance will go after Ben. He’s someone who doesn’t seem like a huge threat, but if he gets to the end, he has a compelling personal case to win. Ben seems to be in the minority, completely blindsided by the last vote, and I don’t know how he’ll recover. This week may be telling.

6. Jeremy Collins- Jeremy is Tony’s right hand man right now, and owes a lot to him. I think having Tony protecting him COULD be good for Jeremy’s game. My only worry is if somehow Nick and Michele switch sides, and they split the votes on Tony and Jeremy. If Tony plays that idol, Jeremy goes. But I do think that Tony, Jeremy, Nick, and Michele seem solid, and Tony could potentially get Sarah on his side too, meaning that Jeremy might be okay for now.

5. Sarah Lacina- I think Sarah is going to be livid about losing Sophie. But she really has no choice but to forgive Tony and work with him, right? He made this move SPECIFICALLY to get Sarah back on his side, and even if they have a disagreement, I think she’ll eventually have to put her anger aside and go gung-ho with working with Cops R Us. He has an idol, so she can’t really go against him, even if she wanted to. I think Sarah is aware enough to know which way to go, and working against Tony and his idol would not be wise. I am not too worried about Sarah.

4. Denise Stapley- Denise and Kim both turned on Jeremy, and I don’t think Jeremy will be too happy with it. But Jeremy seems more upset with Ben than anyone else for lying to his face, and Denise just seems to be second in command to Kim, so I don’t see Denise going anywhere anytime soon.

3. Nick Wilson- Nick is floating around, with no real allegiances. I don’t see any reason to get rid of Nick right now, and think he’s one of the safest ones out there. There isn’t much more to say about him because he isn’t doing too much, just handing Tony fire tokens and being compared to vampires by his friends.

2. Michele Fitzgerald- Michele played amazingly this week. She may not be the most flashy player, but she made a great decision in telling Tony a lie about how she spent her fire tokens. She won his trust with this lie, and was able to be part of a key vote. And nobody is targeting her in the meantime. I really don’t see Michele going anywhere, and I think her social game is incredibly underrated, as nobody seems to be mad at her or against her in any way.

1. Tony Vlachos- Tony was the man of the hour, and I wrote all about it above. Sarah is going to be pissed at him, Kim wants him gone, and he’s been winning immunities which makes him a HUGE target. But…he’s got an idol. I see no scenario where Tony doesn’t play his idol if he’s vulnerable, and should he be voted off with an idol, I’d be incredibly surprised. He’s in control right now, and looks like he might be collecting two million.

Tony is going to be at odds with Sarah, but I think Sarah will forgive him and be able to work with him going forward. Kim and Denise were the ones who really don’t benefit from Sophie going, as they turned on Jeremy. Jeremy wants Ben out, but he may soon go after Kim or Denise as well. Kim is going after Tony the hardest, and I just can’t see that ending well for her considering he has an idol.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Home- Kim Spradlin-Wolfe

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And now for the EXTINCTION ISLAND rankings:

11. Adam Klein- Tyson mentioned that he thought Adam wouldn’t be able to handle Extinction. Could this be foreshadowing of Adam raising the flag? As down as he may feel, there’s no way Adam would give up spending time with his Survivor idols. Right? He can’t give up the chance to vote on a jury for the winner…I could be wrong, but I don’t see Adam leaving….Though Tyson’s comment has me super paranoid about it, which is why I keep Adam this low.

10. Amber Mariano- Amber and Rob had a nice kiss on extinction, and that’s all we saw this week from her.

9. Ethan Zohn- Ethan didn’t get any content this week, so I’ll keep him lower on the list.

8. Yul Kwon- Yul seems to be doing lots of meditating. Good for Yul. It seems like his strategic gameplay has come to an end, unfortunately.

7. Danni Boatwright- Danni is the least visible person on extinction over the past two weeks, but she does have some tokens that she split with Parvati over Michele’s 50/50 coin, so I have her a little higher than people like Amber, Adam, Ethan, or Yul.

6. Wendell Holland- Nothing much to report on Wendell right now. We saw a bit of him talking to Tyson, but nothing more than that.

5. Rob Mariano- Rob is Rob, so he’ll always have some sort of shot to return, but it looks like him and Amber are just enjoying this Extinction Island second honeymoon at this point.

4. Sophie Clarke- Sophie felt super embarrassed by getting voted out with an idol…but I think this season showed that Sophie is a really underrated winner, and had lots of control for a majority of the game. She just got unlucky by Tony being jealous of her and Sarah’s relationship. Any other season and Sophie probably takes it all the way. It’s not over, she has time on extinction, and Sophie is the one who beat Ozzy for immunity in season 23, so there’s a chance she could win this one.

3. Tyson Apostol- Tyson has the best case on paper to win his way back from a challenge standpoint, but he hasn’t been able to get any fire tokens yet. He’s gonna need to find some, or he’s just going to get steamrolled by Parvati or Natalie.

2. Natalie Anderson- Natalie and Parvati got some tokens by sending the extraction advantage (or disadvantage) to Tony. Natalie probably has a better shot of getting back in than Parvati from a challenge standpoint, but Parvati also has the tokens from Michele’s 50/50 coin as well that she found with Danni. So I give a slight edge to Parv.

1. Parvati Shallow- Like I just said, Parvati has tokens from Michele for the 50/50 coin, and tokens from Tony for the last episode. She has been killing it on extinction, and continues to be a prominent player in the edit. I think Parvati could actually win her way back, and it would literally make me happier than ever.

PREDICTIONS:

Quitting- None

Staying on Extinction Island- Natalie, Amber, Danni, Ethan, Rob, Parvati, Yul, Wendell, Adam, Tyson, and Sophie
