MasterChef S10 Power Rankings (Top 16)

Jul 18, 2019 by PowerRankings101
imageWuta, Micah, and Shari all proved themselves this week, while Evan took dead last and went home. Some favorites like Fred slipped, while favorites like Dorian and Katurah kept doing well. It has been shaping up to be an exciting season, and should be more exciting now that Evan’s gone. Let’s rank.

16. Sam Haaz- Sam was a mess this week, putting up a gross Latin dish, then proceeding to fail with his tart as well. Luckily, Evan didn’t even make the right dessert, otherwise, Sam would’ve been going home for sure. I hate to say it, but Sam looks like he’s the most vulnerable, especially since Micah, Wuta, and Shari all proved themselves this week.

15. Liz Linn- Liz was one of the three worst in the mystery box, but managed to pull of a fine tart. I still think, out of the whole bunch, and looking at the competition as a whole, Liz is the weakest. She won’t be safe until she actually wins a challenge on her own.

14. Fred Chang- Fred was the most disappointing man of the evening. After putting up a terrible latin meal with inedible cactus seeds, he then failed his tart (being the only one who had priorly cooked one). I think he’s still a front runner in this whole competition, but this week put him at a major setback.

13. Subha Ramiah- Subha is just so unpredictable. His edit has been huge, so I want to put him near the top, but he just hasn’t really shown himself to be a true top contender. There’s something missing and I’m waiting to find the confidence to put him at the top.

12. Micah Yaroch- Micah finally put up a dish worthy of safety, but he still remains low just for the sake of not knowing what he’s gonna put out next. He’s unpredictably inconsistent, and I”m waiting to finally feel comfortable with Micah’s position.

11. Sarah Faherty- Sarah has been hit or miss recently, and this time, I think she was a mix of both. Some things burnt, some things delicious. It’s getting harder to tell with Sarah, but I can’t say she’s improving.

10. Shari Mukherjee- Shari finally strayed from the Indian path and gave a killer dish. Finally, she’s come to play. Welcome. Stay a while.

9. Renee Rice- Renee bounced back this week. I like her spunk, I like her confidence, and I like her warmth. She has the potential, now she just has to kick it into high gear and prove me right.

8. Bri Baker- Bri remains quiet, but has still been putting up solid food time and time again. Just waiting for her to have that breakthrough.

7. Wuta Onda- Wuta was at the very bottom last week but absolutely rocked the Latin cuisine challenge to become Joe’s favorite dish of the night. I like Wuta and hope he keeps this up. If he does, he can become a serious threat. He’s easy to root for.

6. Jamie Hough- Jamie has actually been fairly quieter than I expected him to be, but he still remains one of the top contenders. Seeing how proud he was of his tart made me happy. He’s a good guy.

5. Noah Sims- Noah has been coasting fine in the middle since he won that shaky team challenge. Noah should be fine in the long run.

4. Keturah King- Keturah really proved herself in that pineapple challenge. I was surprised she succeeded so much given how rough her journey was getting there. I think she proved here that she is serious competition moving forward and one of the top contenders.

3. Dorian Hunter- Dorian knew she was a baker and absolutely crushed the tart challenge. She’s easily one of my favorites out there, and she deserves to be this high on the list.

2. Michael Silverstein- Michael’s edit finally picked up, and at a good time. He absolutely rocked the mystery box (easily the best after the three who made it), and then won the tart challenge. This guy makes everything feel so personal and personable, and I think everything he does shows his best self on a plate. I’m a huge fan of Michael’s and think he can take it all in the end if he cooks like this every week.

1. Nick DiGiovanni- Nick was able to rock the Latin cuisine challenge and secure himself a spot on the balcony after the mystery box. So did Shari and Wuta, but they’ve had an uphill battle thus far. Nick hasn’t really failed yet. He gets the top spot.

There isn’t one clear contender, which is good. Right now, I think anyone in the top 6 is safe for some time. Everyone else has the potential to go home, but I think Sam or Liz is in the most danger.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Home- Sam Haaz
