MasterChef S10 Power Rankings (Top 18)

Jun 24, 2019 by PowerRankings101
imageWith so many people remaining, I decided to make it easy and make the entire top 10 of this ranking the 10 who passed the first part of the challenge, and then I ranked the remaining 8 after that. We’ll see how the contest progresses, but right now, it’s pretty early to call, and Deanna and Kenny, while big personalities, didn’t have what it takes. Everyone else could have a shot.

18. Evan Tesiny- Evan is setting himself up to be the villain, I guess. He keeps making snarky comments, and he really…isn’t that good? I would love to see him go soon, but his personality may be something that they keep around for his snarky, hypocritical commentaries. Who knows? I’m keeping him at the bottom spot just for the sake of not really having anyone to put there right now.

17. Wuta Onda- Wuta is a vegetarian, still tried the pork, and didn’t put it on the plate. His decision making worries me for the future, and I don’t know how he’ll fare in the future if he can’t start making good decisions.

16. Liz Linn- Liz was on the bottom, but I honestly really like Liz and I think the judges may have been a bit tough on her. She looks like an older Pam Beesley and it makes me happy, so for that, I won’t give her the bottom spot as many would.

15. Shari Mukherjee- Shari talked about her Indian cuisine being her strong suit in auditions, and killed it. This time around, she failed to nail the curry. If she can’t nail the one thing she says she’s great at, I really don’t see her going very far. She seems nice and bootable, but I just don’t see a winner in her. Next week will be the first time she cooks anything NOT Indian, so I’m a bit nervous.

14. Kimberly White- “Praying that there’s somebody doing worse than me” is never something you want to hear in any challenge. She definitely redeemed herself in the next challenge, but she’s still one I’m a little cautious of.

13. Bri Baker- Bri didn’t have much to do in this episode, but her comment on the fish was funny. She’s someone who may not stand out till the midway point of the competition, but right now, she’ll be a bit under the radar.

12. Micah Yaroch- Micah is frustrating to me in the sense that he’s either spot on or on the rock bottom. His edit suggests him to be a big player in the competition, but sometimes, his cooking is just underwhelming. He did really well on the pork dish, but I still don’t know if he’s going to be the rootable underdog the auditions might have set him up to be.

11. Dorian Hunter- Dorian definitely redeemed herself in the second challenge, and is still one of my absolute favorites left. I hope the first challenge was just a small speed bump and she’ll be able to carry forward and kill it in the future.

10. Subha Ramiah- Subha got safety early on in the episode, but something about him still puts a question mark in my mind that I can’t quite put my finger on. We’ll see.

9. Fred Chang- Fred was certainly frazzled, and I’m worried it’ll start to carry over into team challenges and further, but hey.. he got safety for his prep skills, and he’s still easily rootable, so he stays in the top 10.

8. Michael Silverstein- Previously unseen, but definitely a strong showing in the prep challenge and a cool beard. Safe.

7. Sam Haaz- Sam did great in the prep challenge, so maybe I was really wrong in my first impression of him. My bad.

6. Keturah King- She nailed her egg separating, which looked like the hardest thing next to the fish. I wish we knew her a bit better, but she’s one to watch out for.

5. Nick DiGiovanni- Nick learned from his dad how to filet a fish when he was young. This is a guy it’ll be incredibly easy to root for, and while I expected Micah to be stronger in the long run, it looks like Nick may be the one impressing for his young age.

4. Jamie Hough- Jamie is a fisherman, so of course he was going to do well with the prep challenge. This is going to be Jamie’s strong suit all competition, so I think he’ll be sticking around for a while.

3. Renee Rice- Renee really shined on the initial skills challenge, and for all the people that were pretty unseen in the auditions, she definitely had the best showing. She was on fire, and I think she’ll be good going forward. She was the first one to finish, and even cleaned her station before time ran out.

2. Sarah Faherty- My winner pick, she killed it on the prep challenge, and had the first confessional of the episode. This is a sign of good things to come for Sarah.

1. Noah Sims- Noah looks like the type of guy who may be a bit sloppy in his prep skills, but nope… he freaking killed it and I really love his drive, spirit, and determination. Aaron called his fish indisputable. He got the first “yes” of the day, so he’ll get the top spot for me.

I don’t really know yet who the true contenders or pretenders are. Right now, I can say that Wuta and Evan have a LOT of catching up to do, with Evan being someone who seems a bit in over his head.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Home- Evan Tesiny
