Dancing With The Stars S27 Power Rankings (Round 6)

Oct 22, 2018 by PowerRankings101
imageWait a second. Tenashe? Went home??? WHAT? And Grocery Joe is…still there??? This is a big let down and may turn out to be the worst season the show has ever had if we lose Evanna, Alexis, Milo, or Juan Pablo any time before the top 5. It was trio night, which means some of my past favorites like Riker Lynch and Rashad Jennings came back to dance…but also some new celebs who’ve never met the dance floor also showed up to the party. Let’s rank these trios!

10. Joe Amabile and Jenna Johnson with Jordan Kimball- Joe could’ve taken a big leap had he been with another great alum of the show. But they decided to put Jordan on it. Great for votes, great for marketing. But not good for Joe’s growth in the competition. This was horrible. Joe will remain in because people love him. But this proved that he is truly the weakest dancer of the season. Let’s hope they never cast Jordan as a star in a future season. Yikes.

9. Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess with Lindsey Stirling- Bobby getting the pimp spot for the second time this season makes me think that ABC wants him to be more of a contender than he actually is. This routine was not a good one. It was actually pretty rough the whole time. Lindsey was great, but I think she was overshadowed by Bobby’s uncomfortable facial expressions. Thank god for Grocery Joe, otherwise Bobby would be at the bottom of this ranking.

8. DeMarcus Ware and Lindsay Arnold with Rashad Jennings- DeMarcus was my clear favorite from week one. But I really think he’s been slipping and I have no idea why. This just seemed to be missing something, and I’m not quite sure what it was. It seemed stiff and tense. Rashad is always great to watch, but I don’t think the dance really showed off enough of his strengths either. I’ll admit, I was disappointed and he could be in some real danger next week seeing as how Tinashe went home this week.

7. John Schneider and Emma Slater with Joey Fatone- Nobody would’ve expected this from a routine with John Schneider and Joey Fatone. Which is why I oddly enough loved it so much. There was storytelling, passion, precision. I believe John continues to be underscored, and I really think he brings lots of great energy to the dance floor. Slow, dramatic, and one of John’s best.

6. Juan Pablo Di Pace and Cheryl Burke with Melissa Rycroft- Melissa won the All Stars season of DWTS, so she is definitely in the DWTS Hall of Fame if you asked me. This dance seemed just a little too easy for Juan Pablo, and I think that while he commits 110% to the choreography, it didn’t showcase nearly what he, Cheryl, or Melissa are capable of. It honestly seemed like something someone in a club could pull off on the dance floor. His weakest yet.

5. Evanna Lynch and Keo Motsepe with Scarlett Byrne- Bringing Scarlett along was a risk, for she has never been on the show. But this was a lot of fun and I think both girls enjoyed dancing together. Keo has finally found his groove I think, and is shaping up to be one of this season’s best pros. One of my favorites of the night.

4. Tinashe and Brandon Armstrong with Amy Purdy- Amy was such an inspiration on her season of the show, and I’m so glad they brought her back. The shocking elimination aside, Tinashe really did a great job tonight and should be proud of her routine. This didn’t seem like the right song for a tango, but Brandon made it work and showcased both ladies perfectly. I’m so pissed that Tinashe went home over Joe, Bobby, AND John. And pretty much everyone else for that matter. It makes the road easier for others, but it just doesn’t seem fair.

3. Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten with Maddie Ziegler- Maddie is terrific, and I’m so glad they got her for the show. Her sister is also killing it on DWTS Juniors. I think both girls stayed perfectly in sync this week. Alexis continues to be so close to the top but never sealing the deal. I really do think she’s a contender and this routine proved it. It was awesome.

2. Mary Lou Retton and Sasha Farber with Nastia Liukin- DARK HORSE? DID SOMEONE SAY DARK HORSE? Mary Lou came into this competition at about middle ground. Maybe she’d get a 9 or two eventually. Who knew she’d score so high so early in the competition? She delivered tonight, and I believe this put her in contention for the mirror ball. Nastia is just such a pleasure too. The two of them danced with Sasha with such pizzazz and warmth. It was so much fun to watch, full of amazing storytelling and impressive moves. The cohesion between the three was one of the best of the night, as every move was spot on. Not the top spot of the night, but probably the most impressed I’ve been all season. Mary Lou’s highest moment.

1. Milo Manheim and Witney Carson with Riker Lynch- Riker is one of my favorite dancers the show has ever seen, so I was ecstatic to see him back. Milo has reminded me of him from the beginning, and it’s quite obvious. They both have such a good energy and move so fluently. This was the best routine of the season so far I think (only in contention with Juan Pablo’s perfect routine from last week. Great music choice, great highlights of both Milo and Riker’s strengths. And just so much fun. I think Milo might be the one to root for this season.

Considering Joe and Bobby are still here, I really can’t even predict their eliminations. So maybe I’ll go the safe route and say John. But I love John, and actually want him to stick around. Given how shocking Tinashe’s elimination was, I’m going to say that we may be in for a shocking elimination of either DeMarcus or Juan Pablo. But I’m not ballsy enough, so I’ll unfortunately predict John’s elimination. Sad face.

PREDICTION:

Going Home- John Schneider and Emma Slater

Looking at Disney night, here's how I THINK it's gonna go:

Alexis & Alan: Foxtrot to "Just Around the Riverbend" (Pocahontas)...I feel like this is gonna be stunning (poss score of 27)
Juan Pablo & Cheryl: Viennese Waltz to "Gaston" (Beauty and the Beast)...Perfect for him, this should put him back in the race (poss score of 28)
DeMarcus & Lindsay: Charleston to "A Star is Born" (Hercules)..Odd choice for that movie (poss score of 25)
John & Emma: Quickstep to "I Wan'na Be Like You" (The Jungle Book)..A staple choice. May be fun, but probably sloppy (poss score of 22)
Joe & Jenna: Jive to "Zero" (Ralph Breaks the Internet).... Lol. Maybe the song title speaks for itself? (poss score of 18)
Mary Lou & Sasha: Contemporary to "Reflection" (Mulan)...I can't WAIT for this. She's improving most and may even get a ten for this (poss score of 28)
Evanna & Keo: Jazz to "When Will My Life Begin" (Tangled)...Perfect choice for her. (poss score of 27)
Bobby & Sharna: Walts to "Part of Your World" (Little Mermaid)...Will probably end up being their best yet (poss score of 24)
Milo & Witney: Quickstep to "Incredits 2" (Incredibles 2)..This will be the showstopper. I think this will get the perfect score... (poss score of 30)
