America's Got Talent S13 Power Rankings (Quarterfinals, Week 2)

So, I am absolutely flabbergasted that Flau’jae was sent home, but I spoke to my parents, and they said she got worse at the live shows, so it really must’ve been a different performance to others. I’m glad with pretty much everyone else who made it, and Junior New System is a great act that I’m happy to have been wrong about. So here is the next set of 12. Let’s go!

12. The Savitsky Cats- A CATastrophe. The cats did what they were supposed to (mostly), but it was underwhelming considering they did tricks we have seen in the past. They did nothing to improve their act and it took a long while for the cats to get on board with each trick. Probably the worst of the night. Sorry kitties.

11. Yumbo Dump- I like these guys and think they’re miles better than Human Fountains from last week. But still one of the weakest of the night. I think they took too long between their sounds and some of their sounds were underwhelming from previous performances of theirs. The dolphin noises were funny but the bit went on far too long. Love these guys, but their act was not good tonight.

10. The Sacred Riana- That was weird. I’m not on board with her act, and while it certainly is entertaining and keeps me at the edge of my seat, I think the magic itself was underwhelming. Wow, Heidi, finally speaking some wisdom. Simon’s reaction during the act is worth Riana advancing. It’s shocking that there are two acts worse than this tonight.

9. Samuel J. Comroe- I think Samuel is a really good storyteller, but I don’t think his jokes landed as well as they have in the past. I like Samuel a lot though and I’m still rooting for him to go further but for the purpose of this ranking, I have to put him lower this time. Also, wtf was up with that screen? Poor guy getting screwed over by technical difficulties.

8. Quin and Misha- The technical difficulties are at an all time low for the show tonight. Between Samuel, Voices of Hope, and this, it’s hard to judge an act when the tech stuff creates a buffer. That being said, I appreciate the inspiration of seeing someone never giving up on her dream. But the dancing itself is a bit underwhelming for a million dollar Vegas winning act. She’ll probably end up in the Dunkin’ Save.

7. Noah Guthrie- I actually liked the song and think it was bold of him to do an original. With all the rock screaming and band playing, it did drown out some of the words and took me out of it a bit. I think both the positive and negative remarks made by the judges are applicable, which makes it hard to determine whether this was a hit or not. I think it was good. Nothing that blew me away but not by any means the worst.

6. Da RepubliK- These guys definitely deliver on passion and pure energy. At the same time, I just don’t know if they’re the most memorable of the night, and they may get lost in the shuffle when America gets to voting. I hope they have a shot because they’re super talented. I think Junior New System is a smidge better, but they really do bring a great energy to the table.

5. Voices of Hope- I think technical difficulties got in the way again, and the microphones and sound seemed a bit off. But these kids are really talented and put their hearts on the line. I like them better than the Angel City choir from last week and love their passion and talent for such a young age. Also…what’s with all the Greatest Showman music? Does NBC have a secret deal with Hugh Jackman?

4. Makayla Phillips- This was miles better than Amanda Mena from last week (Mel B’s golden buzzer), so if Mena sailed through, Makayla should have no problem. She is really stepping it up and had a great performance to kick off the night. Good job Makayla!

3. Glennis Grace- More “Greatest Showman”? Wow. Love the music, but didn’t expect it to be a part of everyone’s act. That being said, this was hands down the most stunning vocal moment of the night. I was absolutely floored by her vocals and think Glennis has one of the most genuinely amazing voices in the competition.

2. Duo Transcend- These guys are bold, brave, and passionate. I love them. To take on the same act that almost injured them and improve upon it. Wow. Nothing but pure respect for these two and I think they could have a Vegas show right now.

1. Front Pictures- I LOVED this act. This was the act that really made the night seem like it wasn’t a waste. The storytelling was so cool and seeing how spot on the video projections were with the performers was awesome. I’m so glad the technical difficulties didn’t show up for this act. It seems like something that is ready for Disney World, Six Flags, any where else where this act could shine. I loved this act. LOVED it.

The top three acts are easy in my opinion: Front Pictures, Duo Transcend, and Glennis. But here’s the thing…nobody else stood out as a sure-fire act to return. I think Makayla has her golden buzzer going for her and the Sacred Riana won’t leave the competition this early on (as mixed as I am on her). I think Noah Guthrie, Samuel J. Comroe, Da RepubliK, Quin and Misha, and Voices of Hope could all find themselves in danger for the Dunkin’ Save (sorry Cats and Yumbo Dump). I think Da RepubliK went too early in the night to be remembered by all and Quin and Misha won’t resonate with everyone. So that leaves Noah, Samuel, and Voices of Hope. I think based on the story and journey so far, Samuel will go through, and I think Noah has the popularity vote. So there’s my piece.

Going Through- Front Pictures, Duo Transcend, Glennis Grace, Makayla Phillips, The Sacred Riana, Samuel J. Comroe, and Noah Guthrie

Eliminated- Voices of Hope, The Savitsky Cats, Yumbo Dump, Da RepubliK, and Quin and Misha

Love Front Pictures but I dont think the older viewers understand the act which is frustrating. I'll watch the rest of the show tonight but I agree with the rankings so far!
