Top 10 Tuesdays: Top 10 Super Bowl Movie/TV Trailers 2018

Feb 7, 2018 by PowerRankings101
imageHere were the top 10 Super Bowl trailers that we saw last Sunday at the Super Bowl. These are tv/movie trailers that were shown during commercial breaks that peaked our interest.

10. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom- This trailer was worse than the first trailer, which also wasn’t very good. But because I need to fill this list up, I’m really regrettably putting this film here. The CGI looks okay, right?

9. Red Sparrow- I didn’t see much more in this trailer than the original few. But Jennifer Lawrence seems to be into the role she’s playing. Good for that.

8. Skyscraper- I’ll admit, The Rock with a peg-leg. Odd choice. The Rock jumping from a giant crane to an even more giant building. Freakin’ awesome. Epic, actually. The movie’s gonna suck, but the trailer was cool.

7. Solo: A Star Wars Story- I’ll admit, I am super pessimistic about this film. But the trailer showed some promising direction from Ron Howard, whose style will probably make up for the somewhat questionable casting choices. Donald Glover as Lando was also a pretty awesome sight to see. A fine trailer.

6. Castle Rock (Hulu)- Andre Holland, an amazing star from “Moonlight,” is teaming up with Hulu and NBC to make a Stephen King adaptation. This is pretty freakin’ cool, and while I don’t watch a ton of TV, I am very excited to see this series.

5. Westworld, Season 2 (HBO)- Another TV commercial (only the second one on this list), that peaked my interest for a show I didn’t see the first season of. I am now excited to go back and see the first season now, and I’ll surely be watching this one. Exciting Sci-Fi stuff!

4. A Quiet Place- There are always horror films that come around to be surprising hits. I think this will be one of them. This trailer was scarier than the original, and showed more of what we are getting ourselves into. This tv spot made me excited for what’s going to be released.

3. Avengers: Infinity War- Not much new footage, but I’m still so incredibly hyped. Groot is a little bigger than a baby, Spider-Man takes off his mask, and Thanos continues to smirk and frighten. I am so hyped for this. So hyped.

2. Mission: Impossible: Fallout- I love these movies, and this one looks like one of the best yet. Also, the shot of Tom Cruise actually breaking his ankle on set was kept for the trailer. Wow. Talk about dedication. Very hyped for this.

1. The Cloverfield Paradox- Definitely the trailer of the night. Not only had the new Cloverfield film been announced, it was also a surprise that it was going to Netflix. But WAIT. Another surprise, the movie was available to watch AFTER THE GAME. One of the most interesting, epic, surprising, talked about marketing strategies that also brought a ton of attention to the franchise. The movie isn’t particularly good, but it was a great way to treat Cloverfield fans to an amazing halftime surprise.
