Tanya was someone I always had on my radar for elimination. The week after she won the challenge, I put her at a safe number 4 position, and sure enough, she goes home. I guess my thinking was off last time. But this time, we’ve got restaurant wars. So who will rise to the top? Let’s rank.
8. Claudette Zepeda-Wilkins- Claudette butted heads a lot with Tanya, which ultimately lead to her dish failing. I think she can cook, but this is the second time she’s done poorly in a team challenge (the first was with Adrienne, when she was sent home originally). So going into Restaurant Wars (a third team challenge), I really fear for Claudette and don’t know if she’ll be able to handle the pressure.
7. Carrie Baird- Carrie had one of the worst dishes last week, but also killed it in the Quickfire, so it’s really hard to call with Carrie. From the beginning, she seemed to be really creative and strong on her own, but when it comes down to being in a restaurant kitchen setting, I don’t know if she’ll rise to the challenge or fail.
6. Adrienne Cheatham- Adrienne has proven that technique is her strong suit. When it comes to restauranting, her knife skills are going to come into handy. But can she match the knife skills she showed in the Olympic challenge with her cooking skills as well? We’ll see.
5. Fatima Ali- Fatima has been on top so many times, but still hasn’t won. She’s been at a bit of a plateau, so I’d love to see her rise above and start kicking butt. She is working the front of the house during the dinner service, so it’ll be interesting to see if her dish will come out well if she’s going to pay most of her attention to the wait staff. Usually people in her position are always safe, so I think she’ll be okay.
4. Joe Sasto- Mustache Joe had one hell of a dish last episode. Cooking, check. But in some past team challenges, he’s been hit or miss. We’ll see how Joe does in Restaurant Wars. His ego could explode when it comes to this challenge, so he’ll have to keep calm and collected if he wants to succeed. Because he won the challenge, I’m putting him in the top 4, but because I’m still a little nervous about him, he’s not gonna crack the top 3 for me.
3. Joseph Flamm- Joe did an excellent job this previous episode, and I think we finally saw him in the spotlight again. In a restaurant setting, I think Joe will provide some good cooks on some meats and be a good team player.
2. Christopher Scott- Chris had the unfortunate privilege of being on Tanya and Claudette’s team. But he still shined, despite working with a dysfunctional pair. He doesn’t crumble under the pressure, so when it comes to Restaurant Wars, he won’t crumble no matter who he’s on a team with. He’s the best team player here.
1. Bruce Kalman- Bruce became a dad! And not only that, but he also gave another stellar dish. A restaurant is where Bruce is most comfortable, so he will be in his element during Restaurant Wars. I think this is going to be another great week for Bruce, unless people sabotage him. But his experience should keep his head in the game throughout the night. Dad card + restaurant expertise= top of the list.
I really think Claudette, Carrie, and Adrienne are the ones in the most danger. Fatima hasn’t messed up yet, Joe is coming off of a strong win, Chris is good in teams, Joseph is a strong team player, and Bruce has the restaurant expertise. Out of the three I think will have some struggles, Claudette just seems to be the hardest one to work with and I think she’ll be taking the boot (again).
