Welcome to the semi-finals! Im excited!

Ok so I'm not gonna lie I was struggling to come up with a theme for this round cause I didn't wanna do what I did last season (which I also struggled with) and I wanted something that would be important for the end game...

So with the Oscars coming up and the notoriety for choosing poorly, I want you to submit a movie that was nominated for Best Picture but didn't win (when they totally should have). I will be judging on how I feel if it should have that year knowing what I know against the other movies that year.

IMPORTANT - I want you to tell me why you find your submission more deserving. It'll help me put it into perspective more <3

This is the time to really show why you are deserving of that final 3 spot...and this season, there will be a final 3 not final 4 so choose wisely.

Good luck!

Also just saw the note rofl

What’s there to say? I’ve literally never heard of Shakespeare In Love prior to this round, and SPR is widely considered one of the greatest war films ever. Major mistake by the Academy to snub this masterpiece of Best Picture.

Goodfellas is my favorite movie of all time and I can’t believe it did not win to me it’s just about the way they treat everyone like family and how hard it is to try to turn your back on famoly

Or if GoodFellas was used already same concept could be used in The Fisher King.

If #Voila’s ban means she can’t submit and will be eliminated automatically can I be her replacement as the most recently eliminated? :/

Selma (2014) directed by: Ava DuVernay

This movie always moves me to tears. It’s depiction of Martin Luther King Jr is phenomenal and really shows the fight, the passion, the heartbreaking reality of what he and black people were up against specifically in the 1960’s. I love that it feels so personal and shows the relational sides to these huge events of history because it really helps the watcher see even more what it was like.
