This is the season where almost every lip sync brings something to the table in entertainment. Its an amazing season and some of the most iconic lip syncs of all time so....
12. Jinkx Vs. Alaska Vs. Roxxxy (The Beginning) - This is the only lip sync I actually find to be kind of bad in terms of entertainment. The only thing I really remember from this is Jinkx's clap before the beat kicks in and Alaska's makeup. It was a boring send off into the finale.
11. Vivienne Vs. Honey (Oops...I Did it Again) - Every lip sync from now on I really love to watch so for it to be low doesnt mean its bad. This however, is a really bad lip sync but its so entertaining at how bad they are really doing it. Just walking around the stage does not secure a win, especially after 3 lip syncs where the winners were turning the party like no tomorrow. The right choice was made and I still love watching this mess.
10. Serena Vs. Penny (Party In the U.S.A) - Serena (while I really dont like her), she was giving a good time and I liked watching her with how she does a slide split. Penny of course forgot the lyrics and was dancing like an awkward mom at her little girls sleepover party. While its a fun lip sync, it garners a 10th spot for Penny and that it just gets better from here.
9. Coco Vs. Monica (When I Grow Up) - The only other lip sync where the loser just gave up, Coco went ham and was skipping around that stage like she was that little girl that Penny was watching. I dont think anyone was really expecting Coco with how she was before she lip sync'd to be a high end lip syncer and it really shows. Compared to the rest of her lip syncs though, its deserving of a spot here. Monica was defeated and thats pretty much it.
8. Serena Vs. Monica (Only Girl in the World) - The songs this season were all really good lip sync songs. The reason though the earlier season lip syncs are low is because the rest of the season just continues to get so much better. Monica pulled out a very fun performance especially after her coming out story and I was really happy to see Serena leave. She aint no Kameron Michaels with her continuous splits. Gurl bye.
7. Detox Vs. Coco (Two to Make it Right) - With the way Coco looked, she looked like one of those characters in this PC version of The Game of Life that I always played. I found that thoroughly enjoyable lmao. Detox played to Michelle's vocals and Michelle was just bopping with her. It loses points though because we all knew Coco was gonna leave unless Detox somehow bombed the lip sync. For a fun lip sync and Detox's girl group peformance, it lands a good spot here.
6. Ivy Vs. Alyssa (Aint Nothing Goin' On But the Rent) - Well the bill collecters were definitely at Alyssa's door and she was ready for her financial romantical adventure. Being the first queen to touch the back stage part that I have no idea what it is, its only something really Alyssa can do. She was having fun and not pulling in really any splits and drops because thats not what the song called for. Shes a versatile performer even if thats not what every other lip sync she performs in says. Ivy I love so much and she really was holding her own. Taking over the right side of the stage she let her face do the talking but compared to Alyssa, it really wasnt enough. Bless her though, she needs to come back for an All Stars season.
5. Coco Vs. Jade (I'm So Excited) - For how long the song is, im really shocked at how much time they spent in the lip sync. It felt so short and from how it looked, it looked like they both were having a great time with it and just blasting away. A bit of an overlooked lip sync, I feel it needs a bit more attention. Sure, its not an all out stunt fest but with such high energy the song required, both brought it and more and I was impressed from the very first time I watched it. It actually got me into the song and I love listening to it alot.
--These next 4 are extremely hard to rank. I love them all almost equally----
4. Detox Vs. Lineysha (Take Me Home) - In arguably the most underrated lip sync of the season, this was such a fun lip sync to watch. Cher is the perfect artist for Detox to imitate with her mouth movements and I was taken home in this lip sync. Also I love the song alot, Idk why I love disco so much but the strings and the beat and bass bring so much fun to me. Most people would probably think Lineysha didnt do good but I think she did good enough for what the song required, she just went against a powerhouse. She was a little out of sync a couple times though but I dont fault her for it. Overall, such an amazing and underrated lip sync that kickstarted the line of iconic lip syncs to come.
3. Jinkx Vs. Detox (Malamba No.1) - I take back what I said about Latrice and Tammies lip sync song being the weirdest old song to appear on the show because I completely forgot about this golden Gem of a lip sync. Jinkx alone could have taken her performance to the number 1 slot with the campiest performance ever. What made it even more amazing was that it was her against Rolaskatoxxx and she went against the best lip syncer of the 3 and kicked her ass (no shade to Detox cause I love her). She even gives Detox a run for her money with her signature mouth during the breakdown. I was so impressed with her and had this been any other season, this would be number 1 but the next two brought so much to it with both people slayying fiercely. This doesnt mean Detox was bad though. She did pretty good going into a camp song it just wasnt really her alley and you can even see that at the very beginning she was imitating Jinkx lmao. But damn, the hidden gem lip sync of drag race.
2. Coco Vs. Alyssa (Cold Hearted Snake) - Dont hate me for putting this number 2 because this could have easily been number 1. I was going back and forth so much about what to do but I want to explain why this is here. I fucking love this lip sync. It was the ultimate showdown of the season, the song was right, the looks were right, the moves were right, this is a pretty much flawless lip sync. Alyssa's helicopter split, Coco's outfit, everything was on point except one thing that I do not fault the lip sync for: the runtime. This is one of the shortest lip syncs ever and it baffles me on why that is. I would kill for the full song lip sync, this showdown needed it. But with all that, this could be anyones number 1 and now im gonna explain why it isnt.
1. Alyssa Vs. Roxxxy (Whip My Hair) - This is an awful song and the words are extremely repetitive but why is it so good? Its the raw in the performance. Roxxxy knew she was fucked against Alyssa if she didnt pull anything out and gurl, she fucking did...her wig reveal was the most surprising thing to ever happen in a lip sync. No one was expecting it and yes maybe she aint the first person in the world to ever do that but she showed a very different audience and world something new. That isnt why its my number 1 though. I actually navigate this number 1 to Alyssa. She didnt even do any signature moves but managed to not only break a shoe but give one of the best performances of all time and something that I think is extremely overlooked because of Roxxxy's move. She whipped with that amazing hair, fell to the floor and spun her body while whipping and just giving the time of my life. I cannot stress this lip sync. If you dont agree thats fine. Everyones different but this is mine so...
I love this season so much but next up is my favourite season of all time...6.
