Eurovision 2019 - MARUV dedication

May 12, 2019 by MyMilkshakes
Since semi-final 1 of Eurovision is in 2 days, I need to give a shout out to the most robbed contestant of the year, MARUV

This needed its own blog dedicated to it, because of the deep admiration and love I have for this song and MARUV. To start, this BY FAR would've been my number one at Eurovision this year, and no one would've been able to challenge it. The minute I heard this song I immediately knew that this would be my favorite song if it won. An added bonus being that Ukraine is my favorite Eurovision country, and their past two entries have been subpar to me, so this reinvigorated my love towards Ukraine. When MARUV ended up winning Vidbir I was ecstatic, because my favorites never win, and I didn't think the juries would love this at all. What happened to her was an absolute shame, and I'm still angry that it happened. This song is exactly what Eurovision needed this year. An iconic dance song with a sultry live show that would've absolutely blown everyone away. In my opinion, this would've been in contention for the top spot this year, and the fact that Ukraine threw this amazing song and performer away over POLITICS infuriated me when it happened, and still makes me mad now. I can only hope that MARUV will have a chance at going to Eurovision in the future, because she really deserves it, and her style and songs will always be appreciated because they're just THAT good. While MARUV was totally robbed this year, I'm happy that this entire ordeal introduced me to all of her other iconic songs. Siren Song will always be a Eurovision song in my heart, and will forever be one of the best entries that could have been.

Later today I'll be posting my favorite national final songs! Siren Song will be excluded from that list, considering it's a national final winner. However, she also would've been my number one there too.
