MY FEEDBACK IS VERY SHORT I'M SORRY DON'T COME @ ME I REALLY DID NOT HAVE A LOT TO SAY ... always ask for more if you'd like <3
Noelle's Feedback

Becksta20
Beauty and the Beast: 5.5
Good mix of vocals, music too outdated
cover: 7.5
Voice a little choppy & kinda weird vocals but I really liked the production

CarolinaSteele
This is Halloween: 6.5
A little brute of a song but nice production and I’m feeling the fall vibes.
Cover: 5
I’m gonna say that this is a showcase of what I believe to be one of rock’s biggest weaknesses in my opinion, which is the music drowning out the lyrics and just being too overwhelming.

StraightLoonie
AWNW: 6.5
The production is kinda like soothing but the lyrics are very simple and don’t stick out as anything special to me.
Cover: 9.5
Okay so the vocals made a HUGE difference and wow they DELIVERED vocals in the cover. I liked the piano a lot too. They understood the assignment.

boysofsummer2005
ITU: 5.5
I think the song relies on whispery or flashy vocals & production and the lyrics don’t really back it up.
Cover: 8.5
I liked that she was not whispering/speaking half the lyrics. I do think this song is similar to AWNW where the vocals make a huge difference, I felt like the cover held up so much stronger (and very well).

kevrev4
COTW: 8.5
Definitely has a strong message and vocals!
Cover: 7
The cover honestly did feel less sincere and overall was less engaging production wise, too, imo.

hayden9102
Go the Distance: 6
Cover: 6.5
Honestly this song didn't really stand out to me in any way but the cover with more lyrics and less instrumental delivered a stronger message and therefore scored higher.

abstractjay
Speechless: 9
Okay orchestra & vocals!
Cover: 8.5
Little less conviction in the first half of the delivery but still great.

smi9127
BOG: 6.5
Very theatrical. I like the French influences even if very minor.
Cover: 7.5
Once again, a fan of the French influences. I thought it was stronger than the original especially when they all sing together & it was a much better spectacle!

konohavillage1
KTG: 4
Blinks...I don’t remember this & I am at a loss for words LOL
Cover: 5
Now what business did miss Ashley have doing this...

FromAWindow
How Far I'll Go: 7.5
I think this is vocally a strong song but lyrically it's only strong at a couple parts and the production isn't anything special.
Cover: 6
I did like the voices but I was a little thrown by the abruptness and selectiveness of the portion of the song covered.

VanitySmurf Blu's Feedback

Becksta20- Beauty & the Beast- I’ve never been a fan of this song. It’s always been a little too slow, melancholy for me. It drags on way to long for the climax of the song too; I didn’t even like the movie, it was just so boring. Having said that, Emma Collins I think did a great job on re-inventing this song for me as far as fresh vocals  & a great build up, her voice is angelic. She made me actually appreciate the lyrics and understand the message in this song. The production in this intrigued me more too.  Original 5/10  Cover 7/10

Carolinasteele- This is Halloween- How did I know that you would chose something like this? You are so dark & mysterious, and I love that about your taste in music. This movie was great, but this song annoyed me. It was just dramatic and I love dramatics but this was overly done. With so many variations/style/voices in this song it made it seem a little scattered and hard to focus on what was going on. Now the cover, was a different story. It gave me everything I needed with that bass drumming throughout the song. That beat went hard; love the rock vibe to this. I also like the daunting tone in the artist voice. The video was great & the production simple, yet alluring.  Original 4/10 Cover 7.5/10

StraightLoonie-A whole New World- This a classic and one of my favorites. I still sing it to this day as I know all of the lyrics lol. However, what the original lacked for me was a strong male vocal in Alaadin. He sounded like a small town boy vs a man ready to step up and show his future wife the World. His melodies were just a little too soft for me, personally. Jasmine was great though, sensual, sexy & seductive voice. In contrast, I thought the cover  was much better from Aladdin. The rifts, the rasp in the voice, and the vocal range was really impressive and very masculine sounding. He really took command in this version. Jasmine had a little soul & sass too which I enjoyed.  They complimented each other very well and it made me fall in a peaceful trance.  Original 6.5/10   Cover 8/10

Boysofsummer2005-Into the Unknown- Whew, when you think of powerful, dynamic, female vocal performance, this song checks all boxes. Her voice is phenomenal. It really made this song a stand-out hit for so many Disney fans across the world. It’s probably one of the most recognized songs to this day. The power in her chest voice, the clarity in upper range, and control is pretty unmatched. The song does get a little repetitive for me which takes off a point. Having said that, it’s really hard for me to hear anyone else sing this song which causes me to be  extra critical on the cover. I thought she did a pretty good job. but what it lacked for me was the raw emotion that I got from the original. She song it well but there was no wow factor, she’s young so the notes aren’t as impressive as a matured adult because she needs more vocal development. Think Grace from American Idol this season, who performed this song live.  Original 9/10  Cover 6.5/10

Kevrev4-Colors of the wind- I appreciate this song so much because it brings about diversity and equality. It makes you appreciate the world around you and encourages you to appreciate the beauty, uniqueness of  nature and people(many different colors/backgrounds) who are amongst you. It was a song that makes a statement and during that time of production it was needed to unify people. In contrast, I thought Vanessa did a wonderful job on the cover. She’s very underrated but really is a world class singer with so many talents. I love the urbanized, jazz & soul vibe to this song. The guitar was nice and smooth and her vocals were sultry. This song doesn’t require any over- singing or a special moment because the lyrics in themselves are enough to stand alone, and I think both ladies embodied that.  Original 8.5/10  Cover 9/10

Hayden9102-Go the Distance- This what I mean by male dominance and strength in a song. This song builds on courage, tenacity, determination, power and of course strength. It’s one of the best male vocal performances on a Disney song. It starts off very mellow and continues to build throughout the song ending with triumph which is recognized in the power in his voice. His lower range is very good which is rare for a lot of power singers. I thought the cover was a little sleepy to me, the vocals dragged a bit in the beginning . I don’t think it should have been slowed down. He has a great voice though you can hear the pain in the voice of what it takes to go the distance, and a good backing band. The falsetto in the hook with the guitar instrumental was wonderfully done. It made me appreciate this more in the buildup, with his range and grit.  Original 8/10  Cover 8/10

abstractjay-speechless- I appreciate you for always stepping outside of the box and not choosing something that everyone has heard before. Speechless was probably one of my favorites from the live performance. She is a great singer with a great blend of power, softness, & clarity. She song this song strongly from beginning to end. It had so much build up and anticipation that made for an outstanding production. Her vocals shined through with every note. It’s such a powerful song too that really shifted the movie into another gear. Having said that, I was underwhelmed by the cover. I like that it was a male vocalist bringing a different style to the song however, It was too much head voice/falsetto singing which I’m not a huge fan of from males because that a comfort zone for men when notes are too difficult to reach. It didn’t give me that same impact that I got when Naomi song it. I didn’t appreciate the lyrical meaning as before because it wasn’t effortlessly song or conveyed.  Original 10/10    Cover 5.5/10

smi9127-Be our guest- Still not a fan of this movie but I thought this song was probably the most entertaining of all from that soundtrack. I was more intrigued with the production than anything else which is captivating and makes you follow the song. It does have a catchy tune. Having said that, I thought the live version of this was superb. To capture all of the elements, voices, switch between scenarios, was very creative from the animation team. It was artsier, dramatic going from dark (industrial revolution) to light periods, colorful, and just overall a magnificent production. Even the vocals were really good here.  Original 6.5/10  Cover 8/10

konohavillage1-kiss the girl- I love this performance from Sebastian in the movie. It has that Reggae, jazz, neo-soul vibe that is so fitting for the swamp scene. Very reminiscent of New Orleans, Gullah town. The lyrics are simple and catchy enough to follow along and make this a great sing along song. It just takes you there, like after a long work week to just wind down and chill, it has that type of vibe. I love the sha-la-la-la part which represents and outburst of joy of some type of accomplishment. The Cover rendition was pretty cool, I like that a female switch it up with feminine vocals and a rockier, edgy tune to this. Ashley is a good singer not great, and you can tell there was lots of auto-tune used for this which I didn’t like. I thought the backing band although great, was a little too overpowering at times and drowned out her airy voice.  Original 7.5/10 Cover 6.5/10

FromAWindow-how far I’ll go- This was such a meaningful song of one’s determination and abilities to go the distance. I thought the vocals were strong and she lots of range, the long soprano note at the end that she held was beautiful. It has a lot of charm and charisma and really fits the movie. Moana is very likeable without having this "superhuman" feeling and it is mythological! I like the integration of myths & legends of Maui in the production of this song too. Having said that, I was very let down with the cover of the song. I appreciate acapella, and harmonious blend of voices; however, this felt like a rehearsal. The echo in the room sound annoyed me. I also felt like this song didn’t need that type of arrangement with so many vocals, male at that with one singing falsetto the whole time. They are all very talented but you don’t get the feeling that the original gives you; this was just way too dramatic, but beautiful voices nonetheless. Original 8.5/10 Cover 4/10.

This song is so powerful to me, the singer was having a panic attack and to calm herself decided to smash it out on the drums for a solid few hours… this became the music video even though the drums weren’t featured in the song 😊

VanitySmurf 's Feedback

Braden- I thought this was a great song choice for just vibing out. It was cool, fun, catchy and had lyrical meaning and religion correlation which i appreciate. It was also very appropriate for summer

Beck- I thought this was mind boggling like emotionally exciting, it was connective, written and portrayed very well lyrically & purposefully. This is another strong submission from you, Not sure if banging on things is the best way to tackle an anxiety attack but there was a deeper message to this for which I can appreciate and relate to.

My Feedback

Braden - I enjoyed this song but I did kind of zone out during it. I thought it was catchy and while I did really enjoy the religious references in the song, I didn't connect really on any other level with the lyrics. She is cute and summery but in this battle she did not prevail.

Beck - This song, along with cardigan, have been your strongest submissions in my opinion. The problem with that is you're submitting them when you're in danger girl! I'm hoping the next round is when you can shine. I really did not like this music video and it came off as fake to me but I tried to not let that influence my opinion of the song which I really liked. It was deep, meaningful, & I found it easy to connect with. The sound was fitting too and just overall I thought it was good.
