So coming in at 54th is Swadloon from Unova. So Swadloon is down here because I just personally dont really enjoy Swadloon... Sewaddle I feel like is cute and has a lot of potential and then it invlolves into this bag of leaves. The good part though is that this bag of leaves can learn some decent moves of different types. Other than that Swadloon is just pretty much kind of ehh. Its not awful. I would consider Swadloon to be a minor inconvenince like hitting 2 red lights in a row. Also look at its facial expression. It looks like a high school teacher when you tell them you forgot to do your homework.
Ledyba is the next on the list. Now to be honest the johto region is the one I know the least about. Ledyba by the looks of it just isnt really an impressive pokemon in any way. Its attack is ehh and its defense its ehh and its not the most cute or intimidating thing. So Yeah Ledyba is just not a great time and is a pretty fluff pokemon from what I understand.
Pineco is just a funny looking pokemon. I mean who got high in the 2nd gen and was like "Lets make a freaking floating pine cone" and now here we are. Pineco is also bug type for who knows what reason. Like when I hear pine cone I guess I think grass but nope we got a bug. Other than that though in my experience pineco is a decent pokemon in battle and evolves into a pretty good pokemon also. I mean just the idea and design is what brings it down so far.
I'm not going to lie I do not know a lot about Wimpod. I have played through sun and moon but never thought those Wimpod that run about worthy to catch. Compared to some peoples opinions I really enjoyed the sun and moon gen and had a hard time choosing pokemon. That is why Wimpod ranks so low down here. Its evo Golisopod is actually pretty lit but Wimpod is not lit. It also seems as though there should be a second evo in between the two.So I guess the reason Wimpod is so low on my ranking is that it is not memorable to me.
The first gen 1 pokemon to be ranked is Kakuna. The reason I guess Kakuna is pretty low is mostly cause of personal vendettas. I hated this thing as it took forever to kill unless you had Charmander or had a high level Pidgey but I felt obligated to to train. Also for some reason in gen 1 anything poison was my weakness. Kakuna unlike Metapod does not hold a sweet spot in my heart what so ever. I do like its design and the name (cause get its like a cocoon haha :/). Other than that using Kakuna is a pretty good thing because it can poison other pokemon for you when you need it.
Venonat is down here mostly because I do not really understand it. Like was it a piece of fuzz or lint. It shows up late enough in the game when I usually already chose Butterfree or Beedrill and have no more interest in working with a bug type pokemon and its kind of ugly to me. It doesnt really like a bug to me either. (Possibly a demented rabbit with compound eyes and antennae.) One perk about Venonat is that is a pretty decent pokemon as it can learn psychic and poison type moves. Plus the standard bug and when it evolves flying type. So in battle it is a very malleable pokemon that you can tune to your needs which is why it is ranked high than I would like it to be.
Coming in 62nd is Cascoon. I actually really love how Cascoon's and Silcoon's design look other than the fact you can only see one eye. But after the fact that their designs make sense and and still have an appeal to them they are pretty lack luster. Not anything special tha t can learn except harden which at this point was just expected. There is nothing special about them and they are pretty annoying on the games when facing them if you haven't caught a type better than them. Idk really where else to put them in the ranking but here...
So if you havent checked out my blog about Burmy yet you should. Anyways Wormadam ranks this low because of Burmy mostly. Wormadam doesnt have to deal with the cloak changes depending on the last place battled but only females evolve and it evolves with whatever coat it last had. AND ITS PERMANENT. Anyways Wormadan although it has to potential to be pretty strong just gets drug down the drain by Burmy and Im okay with that.
