One World Cast Preview Feb 2, 2012
If you want the bios please go to CBS.com and also watch the videos. For me I will be pulling some interesting tidbits on each survivor and then putting a small analysis about them. I will then place a Low, Medium, High rank on how well they will do. At the end of the post I will rank the survivors in a 1-18 list. of course after the first episode we will start up with the power rankings.

research:
Last season I read the bios first and then after watching the videos and listening to podcasts on the show, I made an updated list. This season my information comes from reading the bios (which happened last week) watched the TV Guide preview (earlier this week) listened to the RFF Podcast (earlier this week), and now watching the CBS videos (right before I post this). There is some things I've heard over at the Previously on Survivor facebook page. But doing this once, there wont be any conflicting guesses like my horrible Semhar read last season. Of course I am doing this before I get to listen to Rob Cesternino, Survivor Fans Podcast, or The Tribe.

Men

Bill Posley (28)
Tribe Designation: Manono
Current Residence: Venice, Calif.
Occupation: Stand-Up Comedian
Personal Claim to Fame: First male in my family to go to college.
Inspiration in Life: My grandfather
Hobbies: Photography, tennis and music.
Pet Peeves: Clichés
3 Words to Describe You: Funny, adaptable and persistent.
Reason for Being on SURVIVOR: To push my mind and body to the limit.
Why You Think You’ll “Survive” SURVIVOR: Athletic ex-military experience, intelligence, competitive spirit, ability to adapt and being a team player.
Why You Think You Will Be the Sole SURVIVOR: I am physically capable; I make a great teammate
KYSURVIVOR: Ohh never seen the show until HvV? I guess serving in the Military could have explained him not watching the show. Military could rub some people the wrong way. But his comedian experience could soften his exterior, but the "funny guy" isn't always beloved by all either. Rank Medium

Colton Cumbie (21)
Tribe Designation: Manono
Current Residence: Monroeville, Ala.
Occupation: College Student
Personal Claim to Fame: I came out as gay when I was 12 years old, sixth grade in South Alabama.
Inspiration in Life: My nanny/ grandmother
Hobbies: Socializing, watching reality TV and writing.
Pet Peeves: Ugly people who think they’re hot.
3 Words to Describe You: Adorable, entertaining and opinionated.
SURVIVOR Contestant Parvati, Corinne and JT.
Reason for Being on SURVIVOR: I want to play the game! The strategy, the challenges, I want it all! I don’t care about the fame or whether people love or hate me.
Why You Think You’ll “Survive” SURVIVOR: I live my life as I if I’m playing Survivor! I have a strategy for everything. Hell, the way I got my boyfriend was a strategy.
Why You Think You Will Be the Sole SURVIVOR: I’m confident, hilarious, athletic, good looking, adorable
KYSURVIVOR: So going into this season I knew that one of my friends from high school/college knew someone on the this season. Being a fan is great and everything, but it can get annoying look at Cochran or Spencer from Tocantins. The good thing is, this cast didn't see South Pacific. Hes kind of arrogant, hopefully he will know his place being a younger person. The men women split could hurt or help him. First he wont be flirting with the girls (the other tribe) or I hate to play a stereotype but he could befriend the girls which the guys could find as a threat. There is just too many things that rubs me wrong and I see him going as far as Spencer (5th out). Rank: Low

Greg Smith (64)
Tribe Designation: Manono
Current Residence: Houston, Texas
Occupation: Plastic Surgeon
Personal Claim to Fame: General Surgery and Plastic Surgery, receiving a 1st place award for research in reconstructive surgery, playing as an organ/pianist, 4th place as Campion Missouri State Wrestler Light Heavyweight

Hobbies: Art, music, adventure, entomology and primatology.
Pet Peeves: Inequity and deceit.
3 Words to Describe You: Creative, childlike, (but not childish) and honorable.
SURVIVOR Contestant You Are Most Like: Coach Ben Wade
Reason for Being on SURVIVOR: The adventure, the challenge; to lose weight.
Why You Think You’ll “Survive” SURVIVOR: I’m of the jungle and part of nature.
KYSURVIVOR:  He has a lot of nicknames. He does feel like a Coach and I dont think Coach is going to do well in back to back seasons. I feel like hes more of a Coach 1.0. He also seams as accomplished as Dr Carl from Africa and I dont think his financial situation will sit well with the cast. And someone like him likes to talk and I think it will come out sooner rather than later. Older people also could be stubborn. Not good for a bunch of young guys. Rank: Low

Jay Byars (25)
Tribe Designation: Manono
Current Residence: Gaffney, S.C.
Occupation: Model
Personal Claim to Fame: Being a part of four different mission trips to four different countries.
Inspiration in Life: Bear Grylls
Hobbies: Working out, indoor rock climbing and motocross.
Pet Peeves: Smacking gum, bad breath and clingy texters.
3 Words to Describe You: Active, daring and charming.
SURVIVOR Contestant You Are Most Like: Colby or Rupert
Why You Think You’ll “Survive” SURVIVOR: I have heart. Plus, I’m very level headed
KYSURVIVOR: Elrod? Overall a great guy, I am rooting for him. The question is: will he set his faith aside when it gets tough? He claims he will, but he also wants to get rid of the strategic people out first, that could be a problem with so many students of the game. Someone like Colton who is closer to his age and is from the south would be a great ally but it sounds like he will be an early target of Jay. Pulling a Colby or Rupert reference is usually pretty good unless he is referencing HvV. Honestly when I imaging creating an alliance he is the kind of person I would want to be my right hand man. Rank: High Medium

Jonas Otsuji (37)
Tribe Designation: Manono
Current Residence: Lehi, Utah
Occupation: Sushi Chef
Personal Claim to Fame: Making a name for myself as a Sushi Chef
Inspiration in Life: My wife and children give me huge inspiration!
Hobbies: Cooking, eating, vacationing with family and surfing.
Pet Peeves: People that constantly complain.
3 Words to Describe You: Passionate, determined and motivated.
SURVIVOR Contestant You Are Most Like: Fabio
Reason for Being on SURVIVOR: To prove to myself and family that I can do this
Why You Think You’ll “Survive” SURVIVOR: I know how to fish, make fire, shelter and cook amazing food.
Why You Think You Will Be the Sole SURVIVOR: I can make fire, build shelter, cook and get along with people to win their votes.
KYSURVIVOR: Really Fabio? Lets hope hes not Dan Lue on this Battle of the Sexes season. I do see him as intelligent and handy enough to survive. he should easily get into a decent alliance to avoid the first couple of boots. Rank: Medium

Leif Manson (27)
Tribe Designation: Manono
Current Residence: San Diego, Calif.
Occupation: Phlebotomist
Personal Claim to Fame: Smoking the best turkey, roasts and meats for big family events.
Inspiration in Life: My daughter
Hobbies: Paintballing, snowboarding and weight-lifting.
Pet Peeves: Being taken advantage of and back-stabbers.
3 Words to Describe You: Agile, adventurous and perseverant.
SURVIVOR Contestant You Are Most Like: Fabio
Reason for Being on SURVIVOR: To build my own self-confidence and to become more knowledgeable on what to “survive” truly means.
Why You Think You’ll “Survive” SURVIVOR: I am knowledgeable about the wilderness; I can fish and build fire without using modern tools. I’m definitely a handy man and very physically fit and strong.
Why You Think You Will Be the Sole SURVIVOR: Because I am beyond willing, ready and able
KYSURVIVOR: So we have a battle of the sexes we should have a unique person Amazon (Christy - Deaf), Vanuatu (Chad - Amputee), One World (Leif - Little Person). Just to put it in perspective Because of the gender gap, the challenges are never as tough. This means both tribes are never looking at who is the complete weakest. And in fear of looking insensitive they shy away from taking those people out early. Now with Nicaragua there was Kelly Bruno which had another Amputee but when she was taken out it was after the tribe switch and then there was the NaOnka factor. One thing is, if he give as much effort as everyone else then he will stick around until the merge, i.e. Chad & Christy. There will be a point he will be a theat to win the million which he will falter. Becoming that threat will keep him from getting close to the finals. But no doubt he is a cool person and I will root for him, but like the castaways I will get rid of him as soon as  I can afford to lose a number on my side. Rank: Medium

Matt Quinlan (33)
Tribe Designation: Manono
Current Residence: San Francisco, Calif.
Occupation: Attorney
Personal Claim to Fame: Starting my own law firm
Inspiration in Life: I aim to maximize my potential in everything I do.
Hobbies: Golf, fitness and all things sports.
Pet Peeves: Complaining, pessimism and over-the-top subjectivity.
3 Words to Describe You: Ambitious, optimistic and dependable.
SURVIVOR Contestant You Are Most Like: I have seen a lot of Survivor and can’t recall a past contestant that reminds me of myself
Reason for Being on SURVIVOR: Who wouldn’t want to be on Survivor?!?!
Why You Think You’ll “Survive” SURVIVOR: The only way I am leaving that island is with a tag on my toe or with a snuffed torch.
Why You Think You Will Be the Sole SURVIVOR: I think I have a lot of attributes that will help me succeed in the game: athleticism, charisma, smarts, etc.
KYSURVIVOR: Respect him for starting his own firm. But no contestants hes like? He is a recruit. And if he gets too arogant I could see him leave leary like a Brook (Vanuatu) or Ryan (Amazon). I am going to guess he is a early blindside with all these "Players" Rank: Low

Michael Jefferson (30)
Tribe Designation: Manono
Current Residence: Seattle, Wash.
Occupation: Banker
Personal Claim to Fame: I was the first one in my family to become a college graduate.
Inspiration in Life: My dad
Hobbies: Working out, kayaking and soccer.
Pet Peeves: Annoying eaters, bad breath, people who grunt while working out, and people that “need” a cigarette.
3 Words to Describe You: A leader, ambitious and organized.
SURVIVOR Contestant You Are Most Like: Ethan since he played a very clean game and did very well, and Rupert
Reason for Being on SURVIVOR: It’s my mom’s dream (Survivor is her favorite show) for me to be on and win.
Why You Think You’ll “Survive” SURVIVOR: I am a natural leader who knows when to keep my mouth shut.
Why You Think You Will Be the Sole SURVIVOR: I am a very driven person and can usually get what I want.
KYSURVIVOR: I don't think he is a fan, but his Mom is. I'm sure when he applied his mom tom him to put Ethan on the application. Interesting he is being played up as the villain. Getting the women on the side isn't an option by stealing their stuff, Pener in Cook Islands? No one can steal like Rupert, which he does reference. With the commercials I think they will ride him as the villain for a few episodes so I think he will make it pretty far for a recruit that might rub some people the wrong way. Rank: Medium

Troy Robertson (50)
Tribe Designation: Manono
Current Residence: Miami, Fla.
Occupation: Swimsuit Photographer
Personal Claim to Fame: Adopting and raising my family of 12 marmoset monkeys.
Inspiration in Life: Muhammad Ali.
Hobbies: Studying monkeys, swimming, walking in nature with my dogs
Pet Peeves: People that constantly text while I’m having a conversation with them, bad drivers and women with manly hands.
3 Words to Describe You: Adventurous, determined and entertaining.
SURVIVOR Contestant You Are Most Like: I’m Troy Robertson, I’m like nobody else!
Reason for Being on SURVIVOR: This show is all I have thought about and concentrated on in the past 11 years!!! I need to know dreams come true.
Why You Think You’ll “Survive” SURVIVOR: I’m a true outdoorsman. I can make a fire with two sticks. I am a swimmer and a natural born leader. I have great animal instincts and swim like a dolphin.
Why You Think You Will Be the Sole SURVIVOR: I believe it’s my destiny. Truthfully, because I believe 100% that Survivor was created for me.
KYSURVIVOR: No one else? That gets me annoyed. And his self proclaimed nickname is a little odd. Of the Battle of the Tarzans I would pick Troyzan first. I do respect him trying for 11 years. Rank: Medium

Women

Alicia Rosa (25)
Tribe Designation: Salani
Current Residence: Chicago, Ill.
Occupation: Special Ed Teacher
Personal Claim To Fame: Completing my Masters degree as I am the first in my family to do so.
Inspiration in Life: I have yet to find someone to call my hero.
Hobbies: Singing, running and spending money.
Pet Peeves: Bad manners (burping, farting), rushing and people who talk about themselves.
3 Words to Describe You: Confident, funny and ambitious.
SURVIVOR Contestant You Are Most Like: Jenna Morasca
Reason for Being on SURVIVOR: I’ll make good TV.
Why You Think You’ll “Survive” SURVIVOR: I’m educated, intelligent and can strategize.
Why You Think You Will Be the Sole SURVIVOR: People will underestimate me because of my good looks
KYSURVIVOR: JMo reference!! Such a cool girl, I already follow her facebook updates. A possible person I would want in my alliance but her Puerto Rican mouth might get her in trouble, I see a little Alicia Calloway in her. Rank: Low High

Chelsea Meissner (26)
Tribe Designation: Salani
Current Residence: Charleston, S.C.
Occupation: Medical Sales
Personal Claim to Fame: I was a state champion equestrian rider.
Inspiration in Life: My mom
Hobbies: Golf, hunting and wakeboarding.
Pet Peeves: Slow drivers and people who stand too close to me at the checkout line.
3 Words to Describe You: Funny, driven and bad ass.
SURVIVOR Contestant You Are Most Like: I haven’t seen any country girls who have a strong redneck side that are strong competitors.
Reason for Being on SURVIVOR: For the personal challenges and win the money!
Why You Think You’ll “Survive” SURVIVOR: I am extremely creative and am known for turning nothing into something. I have experience spear fishing and hunting
Why You Think You Will Be the Sole SURVIVOR: I’m athletic, competitive, know how to play a smart game, love the outdoors and am easy to get along with.
KYSURVIVOR: No country girls? No rednecks? No strong competitors? I see her as a typical Carolina Belle recruit. She might be smart, she might be great outdoors, she might naturally fall into a great alliance but in the actual strategic game she will lack. She will not be an innovator of the game. I am the "charm" of Whitney and the body/social skills of Purple Kelly. But both are ignorant of the game. because of all that, she gets stuck in the middle because she really could get carried to the end, but people carried don't win. There is a half a dozen people that could win above her. Rank: Medium

Christina Cha (29)
Tribe Designation: Salani
Current Residence: Hollywood, Calif.
Occupation: Career Consultant
Personal Claim to Fame: Senior year of college when I was president
Inspiration in Life: Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and Winston Churchill
Hobbies: Snowboarding, writing and hiking.
Pet Peeves: When people have poor follow-up skills.
3 Words to Describe You: Fearless, unstoppable and empowering.
SURVIVOR Contestant You Are Most Like: Kristina on Redemption Island. My humor, though, is very sarcastic and dry like Francesca Hogi.
Reason for Being on SURVIVOR: I also hope this show will bring my family closer together.
Why You Think You’ll “Survive” SURVIVOR: I’m very great at delegating, instructing, leading, organizing and problem solving. I can build a fire, fish, spear fish (sort of) and build shelter.
Why You Think You Will Be the Sole SURVIVOR: Survivor needs a funny, goofy and cute Asian girl!
KYSURVIVOR: Intelligent, beautiful, a go getter. All the characteristics of a winner. The women will need some kind of leader. And I think a younger person who comes from the business world does better than a rough military/cop type female leader. Definitely would want her to be in my alliance, I always would want an intellectual equal on my side so I can bounce ideas off them, like a Amanda/Todd or a Stephen/JT relationship. Rank: High

Kat Edorsson (22)
Tribe Designation: Salani
Current Residence: Orlando, Fla.
Occupation: Timeshare Rep
Personal Claim to Fame: I’m also working on my BS at University of Central Florida.
Inspiration in Life: Xena. She is the warrior princess
Hobbies: Riding horses, fishing, all sports.
Pet Peeves: Long lines at the DMV, seat belts on airplanes, girly girls and small children with leashes.
3 Words to Describe You: Competitive, eager and passionate.
SURVIVOR Contestant You Are Most Like: Andrea is my favorite. She’s blonde, a farm girl
Reason for Being on SURVIVOR: I want to conquer the challenges, proving not only that I can survive the obstacles but that I will be the ultimate survivor.
Why You Think You’ll “Survive” SURVIVOR: My skills to manipulate and socialize will ultimately help me
Why You Think You Will Be the Sole SURVIVOR: My life has already played this game and I won. I have faced life and death situations at a very young age. I’m a fighter and I’ll never quit. I want to be the youngest female to ever win the game!
KYSURVIVOR: Her reference reminds me of a friend of mine. Then shes from Orlando which I feel is almost a winter home for me. And she is absolutely adorable, almost near Andrea levels. Jamie Dugan reference? Open heart surgery, she seams like a fighter. Hopefully not having a PE class doesnt mean she can't compete. Good thing for her she is on a Men vs Women season so there wont be too many physical challenges. Of course she is would round out my final four alliance if I was on the show. But the people I would align with don't always do well (especially since their perfect alliance mate is stuck in kentucky) Andrea, Stephanie Valiencia, Mikaylea. She also reminds me of a Dolly from Vanuatu, which could be bad since she went out early. But if this turned out to be a Amazon season where the younger girls stuck together then she should be find. Rank: Low High

Kim Spradlin (29)
Tribe Designation: Salani
Current Residence: San Antonio, Texas
Occupation: Bridal Shop Owner
Personal Claim to Fame: Opening my own business at age 26, working as a whitewater rafting guide, living at an orphanage in Thailand
Inspiration in Life: My dad
Hobbies: Sand volleyball, reading and hanging out with really cool people.
Pet Peeves: Speed bumps, corny humor, people who honk to reprimand rather than as a warning, and really bad bridesmaid dresses (there’s no reason for that, really).
3 Words to Describe You: Passionate, warm and clever.
SURVIVOR Contestant You Are Most Like: Probably Stephenie LaGrossa from Palau, Also, Elisabeth Hasselbeck because she was friendly but competitive and Amanda because she is tall.
Reason for Being on SURVIVOR: Truly for the thrill of it!
Why You Think You’ll “Survive” SURVIVOR: My mental toughness, wicked throwing arm (for a girl), and people sometimes underestimate my sneakiness.
Why You Think You Will Be the Sole SURVIVOR: I believe in treating all people with respect and honor. Why would you vote off someone who respects you?
KYSURVIVOR: An Elisabeth makes me happy, A Amanda/LaGrossa reference is a little old school unless its a HvV reference. She sounds like a real fun girl to hang around. actually would be a better fit in an alliance with me/Jay/Kat than Christina. I don't see her getting into any trouble until the final 7/8. Rank: High

Kourtney Moon (29)
Tribe Designation: Salani
Current Residence: Austin, Texas
Occupation: Motorcycle Repair
Personal Claim to Fame: I grew a person inside my body, squeezed him out of a tiny orifice and managed not to completely bomb at parenting
Inspiration in Life: LIFE inspiration? There are many individuals who have taught me valuable lessons
Hobbies: Doing just about anything with my son, motorcycles, knitting, cocktails and night time bike rides.
Pet Peeves: low moral codes. hypocrisy and folks who regularly enjoy the smell of their own farts. Lack of respect for monogamy, sociopaths and narcissists.
3 Words to Describe You: Creative, scatter-brained and impulsive.
SURVIVOR Contestant You Are Most Like: Jud and Courtney
Reason for Being on SURVIVOR: I NEED the money and want the experience. I severely need a drastic change in my life, preferably one that won't kill me.
Why You Think You’ll “Survive” SURVIVOR: I have great diplomatic skills and I’m a good mediator. I often see a person’s positive side over the negative, which makes me very forgiving and accepting. I have no problem leading, following, or getting out of the way when appropriate.
Why You Think You Will Be the Sole SURVIVOR: Because nothing in this world makes any sense whatsoever and anything really IS possible.
KYSURVIVOR: She is such a unique and cool girl. Jud an Courtney are obscure references especially if its Jud from Guatemala or Courtney from Panama/Exile Island. I think she cares about being a good character instead of a good game player. Rank: Medium

Monica Culpepper (41)
Tribe Designation: Salani
Current Residence: Tampa, Fla.
Occupation: Ex-NFL Player’s Wife
Personal Claim to Fame: Homecoming Queen at University of Florida in 1991, Graduated with Honors from University of Minnesota Physical Therapy School, Wife of Brad Culpepper, and mother of three straight "A" students.
Inspiration in Life: My husband without a doubt! ... University of Florida ... Vikings, Buccaneers, and Bears ... All-Madden, etc
Hobbies: Kickboxing, hiking, skeet shooting, riding four wheelers, snowboarding, wakeboarding, running, reading and volunteering in my community.
Pet Peeves: People who are two-faced, unappreciative and lazy. Also, messy cars!
3 Words to Describe You: Loyal, tenacious and gritty.
SURVIVOR Contestant You Are Most Like: I can relate to Tina Wesson
Reason for Being on SURVIVOR: It is my time to “step out” and see what grit I am made of
Why You Think You’ll “Survive” SURVIVOR: I am enthusiastic, pleasant to be around and a great motivator. I’m like a chameleon; Being great at multi-tasking, I am able to process and calculate clearly under stress.
Why You Think You Will Be the Sole SURVIVOR: I’m never afraid to go out on a limb when it comes to getting something I want.
KYSURVIVOR: I am a Buccs and Gators fan. But wow her bio was a commercial for her husband. I do like her. But will she be a liability not having a lot of outdoors experience like camping, hiking, etc? Will she be annoying to her tribe if she calls them out for being lazy? She needs her tribe to do well or have a favorable switch to get the average age a little higher.Rank: Medium

Nina Acosta (51)
Tribe Designation: Salani
Current Residence: Clovis, Calif.
Occupation: Retired LAPD Officer
Personal Claim to Fame: Receiving a full ride basketball scholarship to Santa Clara University
Inspiration in Life: My mom
Hobbies: Working out, cooking, gardening and target shooting.
Pet Peeves: I hate whining, being called a “girl” and rude drivers.
3 Words to Describe You: Tenacious, competitive and confident.
SURVIVOR Contestant You Are Most Like: Stephenie LaGrossa and Sue Hawk
Reason for Being on SURVIVOR: I want to prove that a 50+ year-old woman can compete
Why You Think You'll "Survive" SURVIVOR: I thrive on being a team player; I have a never-quit attitude
Why You Think You Will Be the Sole SURVIVOR: In 1991 and 1993 I competed for the S.W.A.T. Team
KYSURVIVOR: Kind of reminds me of a Sue/Deb/Mad Dog/Janet/Holly/Dawn. I have a feeling that the women tribe wont be too open to her being controlling. Had she been on the last two seasons replacing Holly or Dawn it probably would have been a different story. But she really got a short end of the stick on the season. Rank Low

Sabrina Thompson (33)
Tribe Designation: Salani
Current Residence: Brooklyn, N.Y.
Occupation: High School Teacher
Personal Claim to Fame: Co-founder of a non-profit organization
Inspiration in Life: My brother
Hobbies: Traveling, photography and painting.
Pet Peeves: People who put leashes on kids! Really?! Also, people who enter elevators or subways before others exit, people who spit and guys that constantly adjust their genitals.
3 Words to Describe You: Blunt, versatile and athletic.
SURVIVOR Contestant You Are Most Like: Sandra Diaz-Twine
Reason for Being on SURVIVOR: The challenge. I want to see if this will be the ultimate challenge.
Why You Think You’ll “Survive” SURVIVOR: My skills as a supreme persuader because I used to book guests for talk shows. my athleticism and excellent communication ability.
Why You Think You Will Be the Sole SURVIVOR: I have a superb balance of wit, athleticism and social charisma. I know how to stroke egos and get people to do what I want
KYSURVIVOR: So NaOnka was a teacher too. She seams pretty cool. I would like to see more Sandra in her. Maybe her and Alicia could get along. If not then I don't know how many of these people will connect with her. She could be a swing vote in the "young pretty girls alliance" like in Amazon. Chelsea and Kat are shoe ins for that position but Alicia and Kim are pretty accomplished to be grouped in with them. The more I talk the more I want to say that she survives a while. Rank: Medium

The first Rankings:

Things to watch for this season:

Tribal Switch. All gimmick season starts, Men vs Women (Amazon, Vanuatu), Age and Sex (Panama), Race (Cook Islands), All Stars (Season 8 and Fans vs Favorites), Age (Nicaragua). All of them had twists to switch up the tribes.
The battle for Tarzan, who will win Greg or Troy?
Can the women win back to back seasons and get a little closer at evening the score between the sexes?
Will the Men lose the first challenge AGAIN?
Chris won Vanuatu and Jenna won Amazon, which sex will win this season? Does Aras count for winning it for the Young Men?
Will the survivor super fan be a common occurrence after Cochran?
Will the new rules on HII's make any difference?
Can I see me some reward challenges?
Why was one of the guys throwing Leif in one of the challenges?
Which girl will I fall in love with? The cast is stacked with cool girls.

Survivor South Pacific Power Rankings: Week 3 Oct 4, 2011
#1t Albert Destrade - 65.8%  (last week 57.7%)
Leader of the CRABS alliance (coined my Andrea Boehlke) but should switch over to a SAME alliance(Sophie, Albert, Mikayla, Edna). Coach is no Philip, he could win in the finals. Brandon and Stacey is a wildcard. And Rick is on the outs.

#1t Mikayla Wingle  - 65.8%  (last week 57.7%)

#1t Brandon "Reap What You Sows" Hantz  -  65.8%  (last week 57.7%)

#4t - Coach Ben Wade "Camp Councilor" -  60.3%  (last week 52.1%)
The least threatening of the two returning players gets the first spot. Coach has been a great social player, But I think he could be playing with All Stars (Sophie and Albert) so even three times around can out maneuver those players.

#4t - Oscar "Ozzy" Lusth - 60.3% (last week 63.2%)
That was a key vote. Now you have a 5 vs 2 majority. For you to lose your advantage, two people will have to flip. I made a mention in one of my Survivor audition videos once that the best time to make a move would be at 8 people. Yes its an even number, but as you can see; waiting until an odd number means you have to flip the same amount of people. As much as I dislike Ozzy, he has put himself into a great position.

#6 - Rick Nelson  -  54.7%  (last week 46.6%)

#7t Elyse Umemoto -  54.7%  (last week 57.7%)
Now the Savaii drones. Best because her charm should help her survive when things do get switched up.

#7t Whitney Duncan -  54.7%  (last week 57.7%)
Knowledge is power and she has it. I would love to see more of her since she is doing something right.

#7t Keith Tollefson -   54.7%  (last week 57.7%)
I don't think it will hurt him, but sharing with Whitney about the idol so easily could tell Ozzy that hes not trustworthy.

#7t Dawn Meehan  -   54.7%  (last week 57.7%)
From the first one out to after Papa Bear and Cochran. I would love to see her react to a twist. Would she still be seen as a weak player? Or will she jump ship?

#11 - Edna Ma  -  53.3%  (last week 50.7%)
Perfect position. Not too high not too low. When power players above her gets blindsided she will get closer to the top, when weaker players below her gets targeted because of strength then she survives another week. She will survive two more Tribal Councils if there is no switch and if there is a switch then her intelligence might help her to survive 3+ tribals.

#12 Jim Rice  -  42.8%  (last week 57.7%)
Vote = the realization that you are a dick, and your tribemates see it coming out. you need to be nicer to some of the people leaving because they could make the jury especially with RI. When people know they are going home and they throw a vote at you, then they are sending a message to the tribe about you.

#13 - Sophie Clarke  -  42.2%  (last week 34.1%)
The brains in the operation will be a target alone on that fact but she is seen as a weak player from the first vote out. I want to see her do very well. If you havn't seen the secret scene with her talking about the hierarchy of the CRABS alliance then you need to check it out.

#14 - John Cochran -  42.1%  (last week 45.2%)
One less person in between you and the next to go. The vote count really doesn't matter now. Between two tribal councils you could have had 15 different votes.in that time you only received 2. The difference between one and two is not much. You are already a target. But for someone like Jim, 1 vote and 0 votes is a big wake up call.

#15 - Stacey Powell  -  39.4%  (last week 31.3%)
BOOP!
Work to make relationships and hope a twist come and you are the dominant Tribe. Other than that Brandon might save her by going crazy or force the tribe to for Mikayla out. But I think she got Franqoco'd by aligning with the Kristina of the season (Christine).

#16  - Mark Anthony "Papa Bear/is that a hidden immunity idol in your pants or are you just excited to see me" Caruso  - 33.8%  (last week 57.7%)
Well I am happy Cochran stayed. But Papa Bear was growing on me despite giving himself a nickname. He gets an advantage in a physical challenge. Hes been eating much better at Savaii and was a beast in the first challenge.

#17 - Christine Marksoski  -  29.9%  (last week 27.4%)
She has the motivation. I would like to see her make a mini run. Maybe a Christine vs Coach duel. We havnt had two hated people face each other yet for this twist.

#18 - Semhar Tadesse -   5.1%  (last week 5.1%)
Same because she deserved to be the first person voted off. AND THAT SPOKEN WORD!!!!
Bye bye Semhar.

Notes on the list.
Biggest Gainer: 8.1% Upolu Tribe (Not Christine and Edna)
Biggest Loser: -23.9% Papa Bear, -14.9% Jim

Survivor South Pacific Power Rankings: Week 2 Sep 27, 2011
Great news we have a lot of movement in the rankings. I will go ahead and state this: When people split the votes, only the people that voted for the person that went home gets credit. The person that stays could hold resentment and since Christine was the actual target, Coach would be placing the people he trusts the most on that vote. We do have a big bunch at #2. So I ranked them personally since some have made sutble moves that will help their selves out next TC.

#1 - Oscar "Ozzy Mr Immunity" Lusth - 63.2% (last week 55.1%)
Big note on Ozzy's numbers. The HII is treated as an extra individual win. Because of that,  owners of HIIs dont see a boost in points until the merge. Even then having an idol pre merge is very risky, just ask JT or what could have happened to Jaime in China.

#2t Albert Destrade -  57.7%  (last week 49.6%)
He spoke at TC. And he sounds quite intelligent. With Crazy Brandon, Returning Coach, Sexy Mikayla, and Sound Effects Stacey, he won't be a target until the merge or a switch.

#2t Elyse Umemoto -   57.7%  (last week 38.5%)
If she is in the 3+2 Alliance, and it survives next week, then she will be sitting pretty good like Amanda and Parvati in FvF. The question we all have is; does she have the skills to make Amanda or Parvati moves?

#2t Whitney Duncan -   57.7%  (last week 38.5%)
Sounds like her and Keith are really close. So the pair of her and Keith would be a hard alliance to break. In the future she could be the first target in fear of Keith having an idol or immunity.

#2t Mikayla Wingle  -  57.7%  (last week 49.6%)
That could have been one of her worst Tribal Councils of the season, and she survived it with out a single vote and her voting out the person that goes home. She needs to do some damage control or in fact, do damage on Brandon.

#2t Jim Rice  -   57.7%  (last week 38.5%)
Has his alliance. Controlled the vote last week. I have a big question for him, does he plan on playing for himself or for Ozzy? Right now, with the idol and Redemption Island, Ozzy could make the final episode you don't want that. What you should want is to take Ozzy out now and force him to win out to get even in the jury. Hopefully Coach and/or Brandon will go from the other tribe and they could take Ozzy out.

#2t Keith Tollefson -   57.7%  (last week 38.5%)
He needs to make sure he sticks with the girls and Jim. If he every picks Ozzy's side on a crucial point he will fall big. He is this year's Grant.

#2t Mark Anthony "Papa Bear" Caruso  -   57.7%  (last week 38.5%)
Win immunity is his best bet. The bigger their numbers advantage is, the more likely the tribe will sacrifice Ozzy.

#2t Dawn Meehan  -   57.7%  (last week 38.5%)
Same as Papa Bear. But also don't talk about your breakdown any more.

#2t Brandon "The most innocent 19 year old thats already married and has two kids" Hantz  -  57.7%  (last week 49.6%)
I want to like this kid. But he is playing it all wrong. I wish I was in his shoes because she wants a final alliance with a guy and then destroy competition. The Hantz way is to make alliances with the hot girls. He also lost a lot of respect by going after Mikayla and lying about it.

#11 - Coach Ben Wade "The Man the Legend The Chi" -    52.1%  (last week 32.9%)
His charm really does win a lot of people over. He just needs to avoid the crazy later in the game. I say vote out Brandon and Stacey next. After that the tribe should be united.

#12 - Edna Ma  -  50.7%  (last week 49.6%)
I love her Tree Mail Hat. But she seams so clueless about the alliances and is a horrible liar. We need puzzles that don't involve strength for her to shine in challenges.

#13 - Rick Nelson  -  46.6%  (last week 49.6%)
He is so quiet. But that means hes playing a smart game. He drops because he was with the people that voted Stacey. But I don't think Stacey will hold a grudge. He should make the merge easy.

#14 - John Cochran -  45.2%  (last week 26.0%)
Like Papa Bear and Dawn, he needs immunity wins. It could help if he gets a chance to win the challenge for the tribe. But his fate is in Jim's hands.

#15 - Sophie Clarke  -  34.1%  (last week 49.6%)
Why did she get a vote? Is that a clue into whats going on? She also has a beef with Brandon and needs him to go for her to advance in the game.

#16 - Stacey Powell  -  31.3%  (last week 49.6%)
BOOOM! I love her Tribal Council antics. But she is such an outsider I find it hard to believe that Brandon will go before her. She should be an easy vote before they have to pick between Miki and Lill Hantz.

#17 - Christine Marksoski  -  27.4%  (last week 49.6%)
Hope that there is a coconut throwing contest so you can beat Semhar. She made such huge mistakes so early in the game and she never tried to recover from them. Totally oblivious to whats going on.

#18 - Semhar Tadesse -   5.1%  (last week 5.1%)
Oh she is dying out there. She might quit before the duel even happens. I don't think she will have the drive to win the duel, which is the main thing about Redemption Island.

Notes on the list.
My top 4 (Elyse, Whitney, Mikayla, and Jim) are all tied at #2.
My bottom 3 Semhar, Christine, and Stacey) are in the bottom three.
Biggest Gainer: 19.2% Savaii Tribe
Biggest Loser: -22.2% Christine, -18.3% Stacey

Survivor South Pacific Power Rankings: Week 1 Sep 19, 2011
imageLook at that form by Mikayla.
Brandon is caught staring at her breasts during the challenge. For now on she should stay at camp where she belongs tending the fire. Challenges are for men and ugly women.

:)

his episode made me very happy.
It felt like a throwback episode talking. We had disagreement on leadership styles (Ozzy's west coast approach of lets swim and just sleep on the beach tonight vs the hard workers of Coach's), There was alliance forming (The Upolu 5 and Dawn-PapaBear-Cochran?), all the fans were on their seat hoping their preseason favorite doesn't leave, and TWO CHALLENGES!!!

But lets get into Power Rankings. Note rankings are skewed because we only have 2 competitions and 1 vote. So there are some bunches where statistics are the same, I have ranked them personally from what I know about the tribe interactions.

Outlast: only 3 days have been shown, Semhar wont have her duel until day 6. So I have everyone making till day 6 with 15.4% of the Outlast score.
Outwit: Semhar has a 0%, John has 62.% for surviving, the rest of the Savaii have 100%, Upolu gets 33.3% just because of the spread sheet is setup that way.
Outplay:  The Vets have 50%, Savaii newbies have 0%, and Upolu Newbies have 100%

#1 - Oscar "Ozzy the Dolphin Porn Star" Lusth - 55.1%
I talk about this many times, but Political Capital is very important in Survivor. Here is what wikipedia says:
A politician gains political capital by virtue of his or her position, and also by pursuing popular policies, achieving success with initiatives, performing favors for other politicians, etc. Political capital must be spent to be useful, and will generally expire by the end of a politician's term in office. In addition, it can be wasted, typically by failed attempts to promote unpopular policies that are not central to a politician's agenda.
Jim called it clout, and Ozzy apparently doesnt have enough to encourage his tribe. The reverse side of the coin, Jim won by picking the right person to support and looks to be the leader of the tribe. But Ozzy did one thing smart, recognize that he lost the vote and vote Semhar out. Unfortunately Cochran knows there is a bounty on his head and is aware of Ozzy's motivation.

#2 - Upolu Newbies - 49.6%
Rick Nelson
How can you not love this guy. He won the Sears video contest and hes such a big fan compared to Jimmy T. Then he is likable and makes a smart alliance. Of the people in the alliance I have him at #3 which ever way you break the tribe down. So if they eat their own he will not be the target.

Sophie Clarke
She quickly found an alliance which is good. But she looks like one of the leaders. So if the tribe is down in numbers she will be an early target. If she turns on Lil Hantz, she has relationships with the others on her tribe. From the little scenes I've seen, her and Mikayla look like they might be bondings and they have a common ground with not trusting creepy Brandon.

Albert Destrade
He being the most physical person in the game found a great alliance. Now win challenges.

Brandon "Lill Hantz" Hantz
I have a great quote from Yau Man soon after the show that was on the facebook page 'Previously on Survivor...":
"..he is a 'CHRISTIAN' .. " is the understatement of the Century!!!! He's so pious he makes Jesus and Paul look like backsliders!!! Sorry, the man has no independent thoughts in his head ... it's creepy because he denies his own humanity and all his "output" is regurgitation of what was cramped into his brain by uneducated and uninformed reading of the Bible... a very very sad case of a great religion reduced to simplistic primitive superstition in the hands of the willfully ignorant! I'm beginning to think that MB or the casting crew hate Christians - why else would they cast such an awful specimen! Shame.. shame..
He is acting shady, and he is targeting someone that I dont think he can beat in Mikayla. She will be very handy when you have men vs men and women vs women challenges. Not to mention she is so helpful around camp. He does have the fish thing going for him, but if it was that easy I can see Albert or Coach doing it too. Sophie already knows there is something hiding under the skin, or on his skin. If the alliance of 5 sticks together, Brandon will be an easy first one to go at that point. Unfortunately if it is a merge he should switch but that would be a total villain thing to do and will follow great in his Uncle's footsteps.

Edna Ma
She is so sweet, and she was nice to Coach. This will help her break into the core 5. There is also some weaker people that is below her. Her comment to Brandon about Russell coming back was hilarious. lol.

Mikayla Wingle
She is such a hard worker and I dont see her coming off like Steph did in Palau. Her biggest hurdle is Brandon which looks to self implode. If that happens sweep in and kill Coach with kindness.

Stacey Powell
Not much from her. We know she can be abrasive and only time will tell if she has formed any bonds. She really confused me and Coach during the reward challenge. She isnt the smartest since she totally missed the idol. That tree is very memroable, I would look there multiple times, someone will find the clue before the end of September.

Christine Marksoski
WHY DID YOU LOOK FOR THE IDOL!!! Kristina Kell 2.0
Then she gives the Franqucoco answer about the returning players.
Unless one side or the other makes a power move (Mikayla, Sophie, Coach, or Brandon) then Christine will be an easy first boot.

#10 - Savaii Newbies That received no votes - 38.5%
Jim Rice
I already went over this some. He had big gains and hes a natural leader. He was the main on helping Ozzy in the challenge. He had Papa Bear and Dawn in his pockets since hes the protector of the weak. Then Cochran is indebted to him at least until the merge. Big gains need to solidify the girls of his tribe and get Keith on his side. He needs Keith for physical strength.

Elyse Umemoto
Well Ozzy hasn't sunk his teeth in her yet. And she could be in good with Jim and Cochran. Not to mention shes adorable.

Whitney Duncan
She might be on the outs and on Ozzy and Keith's side. Its hard to tell since they voted with the majority. She did reassure Cochran getting into the water.

Keith Tollefson
He was pretty vocal about getting Cochran out at TC. I dont think hes thinking strategically. Just having a strong tribe wont make you win the game. And they is the only thing Ozzy does when he forms alliances.

Dawn Meehan
Woah, breakdown on day 2? They is why Holly was picked over you. But I do like her, she rebounded and didnt have the vote be between her. I might have been easier if Ozzy targeted her. She also looks like shes in a decent alliance now.

Mark Anthony "Papa Bear" Caruso
I hope this guys stays healthy, I really like him and how he helped Dawn and Cochran.

#16 - Coach Ben Wade "The Dragon Slayer" - 32.9%
Well he got the Russell welcome but quickly became a team player. Made an early 5 person alliance that should build a good basis on this game.

#17 - John Cochran - 26.0%
From Twitter:
eorlins Eliza Orlins
Oh boy this is the @SurvivorCochran show!! We are looooooving him over here at the #Survivor
#NYC premiere party!!!
I got that feeling watching it too. And I love it. I love it when we have great storytellers on the island narrating. My biggest fear being on Survivor is losing the first challenge and being voted out FIRST. My big problem is creating the necessarily relationships in 3 days especially when you have Alpha Male personalities like Ozzy and Jim. Where you find me is the soft sell. And a week into the game you have everyone liking me and we have an alliance. But if I was in Cochran's shoes I would be in deep trouble. He managed to convince the tribe as a whole to keep him. And he tries harder which will make an even better story line next week. I can't see the girls not liking him. Hes like the little brother.

#18 - Semhar Tadesse - 5.1%
Jeff called it. There was more that we didn't see because of how she acted around camp. She will lose RI. She might throw it.
