Little Rant about "people" who don't like the word "man" or "men"

Nov 29, 2020 by hellocat
May get a little hate for this but I don't give a flying fuck. The other day I read a series of messages of someone attacking this person for using the word 'snowman' 🤦.

This person went on to attack this man for saying the word, insisting he use the word 'snowperson' instead. The username of this moron of course included the word wo(man). What I don't understand is why she persisted they replace a word with 'man' in it with a word containing 'son'; surely if she was so offended by the use of the male gender, she wouldn't use a word related to, the male gender.

Radical Feminists - apart of the illiberal liberal clan continue to ban words to make it more neutral and inclusive. So if we followed them we'd me saying wopeople and sportspeopleship. This is so ridiculous and this group of people don't understand the original meaning of the genders.

Man was originally gender neutral, Before “man” meant a male, the word “wer” or “wǣpmann” was commonly used to refer to “male human”.  This word almost completely died out around the 1300s, but survives somewhat in words like “werewolf”, which literally means “man wolf”.

Women at the time were referred to as “wif” or “wīfmann“, meaning “female human”.  The latter “wifmann”, eventually evolved into the word “woman”, but retained its original meaning.  The word “wif” itself eventually evolved into “wife”, with its meaning obviously being changed slightly.

So the word man originally meant "all humans", but we constantly find that radical feminists want the word man eradicated.

I am a feminist, but not a radical feminist. This sort of stupid nature is driving away men from supporting the movement. This quote sums it up: "Achieving gender equality requires the engagement of both women and men, girls and boys. It's everyone's responsibility" And by cancelling men for equality, all it does is damage the movement

"So the word man originally meant "all humans".."

Okay sure, but it still doesn't erase the fact that it doesn't mean "all humans" anymore. As you stated, words change and so do languages, so why not change our lingo to make it more inclusive? Especially with more and more people finding new ways to identify themselves. This shit is kind of important, in my opinion
