πŸ’₯ Last round I challenged my 14 to send a song from an artist they had recently discovered, reallyreally came on top with David Kushner whereas tswiftlover13 failed to submit - which lead to their disqualification from the competition.

== 🐱 The Kat Call 🐱 =
Alright my kittens, you've seen what happens if you don't submit - I'm really lenient when it comes to extensions of time, but when I send multiple reminders and then get a sarcastic gif - then I'll be annoyed especially when I'm not in the mood in the first place. Rant over, let's be more positive and move to Round 3!

This theme is a repeat from a past season and one I enjoyed a lot. From Season 3, Episode 3 the theme is 'Your Interpretation". A photo can speak a thousand words - and your job is to submit a song that shows your thoughts regarding a specific photo. You will be tested on your interpreting skills. For example, if it's a group of hills, you can choose to send Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill, or you can be more implicit, and go for a song about following the crowd, as all the hills look the same. Here's this seasons picture:

This photo was shortlisted in the 2020 Sony Street Photography Open Competition. You may feel like it would be good to add a comment with your submission, so I can understand how you interpreted the image! Remember to open your creativity and the best of luck!!

I do feel like this photo is a bit tricky, so for added support here's something I found:

Peter Brooks shares his experience and conversations with the Red Rebel Brigade in London late last year for this week's Beyond the Frame.

β€˜You’re channeling love. You’re open to everything. Most of all I was just thinking that I loved every single protester, every single person [activist wells up]. Sorry, it’s emotional.’ - Red Rebel

The photo is a group of protesters called the Red Rebel Brigade

This image invokes the thought of leaving for whatever's out there for you, no matter how crazy it may be.

Honestly, my first message was accurate with how I'm interpreting this.
I'm getting the story of someone at a house party in a city and someone gave them a drink they that was spiked with some hallucinogen. You drank it and started feeling woozy so you jumped on the train to go back home and now you're seeing these figures everywhere.

Well that’s a picture…

I interpret it as people detaching from things they don’t want to face (there’s clearly a creepy group of people on this train, but nobody is facing them or acknowledging their presence). It reminds me of this song because Demi discusses how people try to detach from things they don’t want to face on a more psychological level:

I can relate to this song, I was bullied as a kid for being not only different but poor. I did not look like all the rest of my peers either. I feel it means that even though nobody cares about how you feel, always remember that you're not alone.

Clicked send before I was done...But I feel like the people in the image are different and no one looks at them or cares if they are even there.

I did some research into the Red Rebel Brigade group and apparently their purpose is to warn people about the "global environmental crisis". I decided to choose a song that has a similar message.
The line "Control yourself, take only what you need from it" is meant as a warning about climate change, while the line "The water is warm, but it's sending me shivers" references global warming. The strangeness and creepiness of the music video matches the photo as well.

Zombie by The Cranberries

I was reading some explanations and looking at the picture through my own mind and I really found it fascinating how a majority of the people in the pic didnt pay them any mind. It made me think of desensitization and one of my favourite songs of all time is Zombie. A song about war and the reflection of people not really caring because war and violence is just a common occurance. Its a really powerful song that in my opinion compliments at least one perspective of the pic <3

This photo to me just screams acceptance, and this song is all about acceptance + With the title it Plays into them wearing red

The group in red easily stood out in this photo, and Holy (Til You Let Me Go) is all about standing out amongst the crowd and not being afraid to make your story heard. In the photo, the people in the red costumes are not ashamed of themselves, as they are there to spread a message. You can see them trying to interact with the other subway riders as well. This song is all about letting your thoughts be heard and not being afraid to express yourself, and I believe that is exactly what the group in all red is doing on that train.

The ladies in red give me angry religious ideology and the subway has an air of claustrophobia so I feel like this song kind of represented that to me sonically
