Reality Show Blog - November 25 2009

Nov 25, 2009 by beepboop
Hi everybody. On tonight's blog I will be recapping the Dancing With The Stars Finale and So You Think You Can Dance.

I'll start with the DWTS finale. Before the results were revealed, each couple danced their favourite dance of the season for their final judges scores. The scoring was exactly like the Megamix except they didn't have to dance side by side. First up was Kelly and Louis with a Viennese Waltz. They got a 23 on this dance before which would have been very bad at this stage but they made a huge improvement from the 1st time doing it. Next up was Mya and Dmitry with a Jive. They got a 27 on this dance before which would have been alright at this stage and they actually made a slight improvement over the 1st time. Last up was Donny and Kym with an Argentine Tango. They got a 29 on this dance before which would have been great at this stage and they danced it even better now than the 1st time. This is how the judges ranked them.

1st Donny and Kym 30 points
2nd Mya and Dmitry 28 points
3rd Kelly and Louis 26 points

And this is how they were ranked overall.

1st Mya and Dmitry 115/120
1st Donny and Kym 115/120
3rd Kelly and Louis 102/120

Now for the final results. The couple that finished in 3rd place was Kelly and Louis. No surprises there. That leaves Mya and Dmitry and Donny and Kym as the final 2. The winner of Dancing With The Stars Season 9 is ... Donny and Kym! I am really happy that Donny and Kym won and even Mya and Dmitry didn't win they still did a really good job in the competition. That's it for this season. We will be back with Season 10 in the spring. Until then farewell Dancing With The Stars.

Now for SYTYCD. The Top 12 each performed 2 routines in their respective couples. First up tonight was Ellenore and Ryan with a Lindy Hop. This was a great way to start off the night. Next up was Kathryn and Legacy with a Jazz routine. If their 2nd routine is nearly as good as this, they'll be in the Top 10 for sure. Next up was Karen and Victor with a Tango. Other than a small problem with Victor's posture, it was pretty good. Next up was Mollee and Nathan with a Hip-hop routine. It didn't start off so great but it got better near the middle of it. Next up was Noelle and Russell with a Samba. It was good but they needed to get a little more into the character of the dance. Last up for the 1st round was Ashleigh and Jakob with a Lyrical Jazz routine. Best performance of the night so far. This is how I ranked them after the 1st round.

1st Ashleigh and Jakob
2nd Kathryn and Legacy
3rd Ellenore and Ryan
4th Karen and Victor
5th Noelle and Russell
6th Mollee and Nathan

Now for the 2nd round. First up was Ellenore and Ryan with a Broadway routine. Overall I think they have had a good night with 2 great performances. Next up was Kathryn and Legacy with a Viennese Waltz. Usually it's Kathryn that has something to improve on but this time it was Legacy who had to improve on something. Next up was Karen and Victor with a Hip-hop routine. It was alright but it wasn't very memorable. Next up was Mollee and Nathan with a Can-Can routine. This dance was definitely right up their alley and they did a great job with it. Next up was Noelle and Russell with a Contemporary routine. This was much better than their 1st performance. Last up was Ashleigh and Jakob with a Cha Cha Cha. All I can say for them is 2 great performance=2 tickets to the Top 10 and if that works out we will definitely be seeing more of them next week. This is how I ranked them overall tonight.

1st Ashleigh and Jakob
2nd Ellenore and Ryan
3rd Kathryn and Legacy
4th Noelle and Russell
5th Mollee and Nathan
6th Karen and Victor

I predict that Karen and Victor are going home.

That's it for tonight. I didn't have to time to get to the So You Think You Can Dance results so I will get to that tommorow along with Survivor Samoa.

Good night everybody.
