You'd get a letter with your character, lines, and a deadline. Then go to rehearsals with the other randomly selected cast. You film, take promotional photos, and go to public events to promote the movie like celebrities do.
I imagine movies like Cat Woman being starred by someone like Consuela from Family Guy.
