As an AVID follower of Instagram sensation Christie Murphy, queen of the phenomenal and not at all flawed 21st season of Big Brother, I knew that a brisk 2-hour drive to see her @ Mystic Earth Boutique was just too good an opportunity to pass up. "Get in, loser, we're going to see Christie Murphy," was basically the vibe as Washed_Ravioli and I piled into my SUV (equipped with ridiculous music and snacks) and made the trek to the esteemed Mystic Earth Boutique.
And what a worthwhile trek it was.... Christie was lovely!! So kind and down to earth. She was happy to see me and Washed, enthusiastic to discuss the juice on BB23 with Washed while I stood there in starstruck rapture. From opinions on the Cookout to hot goss on contestants from her own season (toxic Michie, diva Kemi), they covered it all. It was so surreal hearing her talk about herself and the other houseguests... really puts the idea that they are, in fact, real people that exist, into perspective.
Mystic Boutique itself was what I would call the EPITOME of sartorial elegance. Ranging from comfy-chic to flirty-vogue, Christie's selection was certainly a sight to behold. She was unbelievably supportive and attentive. I ended up purchasing two articles: firstly, a cute pink sweater --fashionably baggy, in preparation for the upcoming chilly season -- at the advocacy of Washed. Fashion king. My second purchase was a little black dress -- flowy and classy, to be paired with stockings and a snazzy overcoat in the fall -- at the encouragement of Christie Murphy herself, who commented that it looked cute, and that I look good in black. So OF COURSE I had to buy it. I would have been a fool not to.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience. I am so glad to have shared it with the legend Washed Ravioli himself. I highly recommend the store to any fashion-forward Tengagers that find themselves in the Staten Island area. Christie is so sweet and was truly a pleasure to speak with.
