Admir - Hello - Evanescence - I wasn't planning on doing such an analysis, but i'd never heard this song so i went to genius lyrics to look while i listened and holy shit for such a song with so few lyrics its so good and powerful with her voice so pure and... almost haunting? About her sisters death... oof. Honestly I could just put all of them because they are so well written but if I had to choose i'd pick "I'm the lie living for you so you can hide / Don't cry" because honestly sometimes i feel like i gotta lie to myself so i don't cry so it just hits home
disneygeek - World's Smallest Violin - Honestly...i don't like this style of music. But the lyrics themselves are pretty good and I can relate to them very much. My favorite lyric of the song is "Somewhere in the universe / Somewhere someone's got it worse /Wish that made it easier / Wish I didn't feel the hurt." I literally felt like this last week when i was gonna go vent to a buddy of mine that just had a baby and they are bout to ship him off in the military somewhere. and im just like damn. my shit really isn't that bad. but it still hurts even when trying to put it into perspective
mrkk - Cardigan - Taylor Swift - Personally Folklore is my least fave t-swift album. i prefer evermore. but this one is definitely top of the list of the songs from evermore. my favorite lines from this song are "But I knew you'd linger like a tattoo kiss / I knew you'd haunt all of my what-ifs / / I knew I'd curse you for the longest time / Chasin' shadows in the grocery line." I feel like when you lose someone really important to you, romantically or not, they have a long lasting impact on your life. And you'll see them everyday in different things, and sometimes your mind going out of the way to try to see things that remind you of them when something isnt even really there. I know i'm a person that gets stuck in my mind of what ifs and gets stuck up on people. so yeah
titoburitto - Tolerate It - Taylor Swift - I love evermore so much. I remember the first time I listened through and heard this song and it paints such a clear story and the lyrics are so incredibly good and powerful. my favorite one from this song is "I made you my temple, my mural, my sky / Now I'm begging for footnotes in the story of your life." Like oh my GOD. just the way you can literally make someone your world, and you feel like you mean nothing to them in comparison. I've felt like that a lot and the line just hits home. its so good
NewNightmare7 - Violet - Hole - I had never heard this song before now. Personally, the song goes a little too hard for my taste. but nonetheless, my favorite lyrics from this song were "And the sky was made of amethyst / And all the stars were just like little fish." Good imagery. The rest of the song made me feel a little uncomfortable, and after looking up the lyrics and what they mean i guess rightfully so.
survivor8 - Who's Laughing Now - Durry - I can honestly say I've never heard of Durry before just now. Honestly the vibe of the song was great and i'll probably listen to more stuff by them. My favorite lyrics of this song are "My friends said someday I would make it big / But I'm still living in the basement. / / But baby I just paid the rent making music with my friends / It ain't much but it could be the start of something big." Its the fact that even though you know that it might be a long shot to make it big and being able to pay the bills with a music career, they are still going for it anyway. Their friends are hyping them up and being supportive, and even though they might not be the biggest music stars, they are making enough to pay the rent and thats making it worthwhile to keep striving for more.
otaq - Cannon Beach - David Kushner - Never heard of this song or person before. I wish the song was maybe a little longer and had more lyrics. I felt like besides the chorus there wasn't much substance. Regardless I think this is a really good line: "Can you live with the things that you did / Or the things that you didn't?" Cuz really life is just a game of decisions of what you'll do. And when you think about it near the end of your life when you look back at everything you've done and haven't done... were they the right decision? this lyric was kinda deep ngl
kiara_xoxo - Doses - Karina Grace - I had never heard of karina grace before but i did like this song. I wish it had another verse it was too short. My favorite lyric of the song was "If I had a day where everything was ok / And I didn't even cry or scream out my brain" because honestly its so relatable for someone that lives in their head a lot of the time which is me.
bigbrothersupertome - All For Us - I assume you mean Zendaya and Labrinth? - The lyrics and beat were too mismatched for me to enjoy it, either way my favorite lyric was : " Guilty or innocent / My love is infinite / I'm giving it."
joey96 - Not a big fan of U2, this song was not my favorite. It's okay considering after i read the meaning of the lyrics and stuff. but meh. My favorite lyric is "And when it's rainin', rainin' hard / That's when the rain will break a heart." The more shit you go through the more likely it is to break you.
panda13 - Phantom - Rina Sawayama - my first time listening to a rina track. i liked it for the most part. reminded me of michelle branch and kinda older pop. lexeyjane - Nightmare - Halsey - Halsey is pretty hit or miss with me. This was my first time hearing this song by her. I didn't like the shifting from angry chorus to more nice melodic verses. I mean i get why cuz she's angry but just didnt sound good to me. Favorite lyric: "Stared in the mirror and punched it to shatters / Collected the pieces and picked out a dagger." very good imagery and i like the rhyme of shatters and dagger. It worked really well for me
