Paramore - All We Know is Falling (2005) - Album Review

imageI thought I would go through Paramore's discography.
A litte bit of background: I first found them out through Rock Band 2 and up until a month ago, I only heard about 5 of their songs but I loved all 5 so I gave it a shot...the following is my thoughts on it.

Knowing the history of this band, I can imagine it being pretty upsetting having your basist dip out a couple days into recording your first albulm, especially given how young all of these guys were at the time but I must say I was extremely impressed with this record overall. There is not one song I actually dislike which says alot about the band.

For the pop punk alternative rock feel that they were capturing, Paramore is the band that proved to be the most successful and it really shows here. The heaviest sounding albulm from Paramore (which I personally believe because the bass was sub par), every song is different with a consistent sound. "All We Know" kicks off right out of the gate with a great upbeat answer to having Jeremy Davis leave the band. "Pressure" is a great single that keeps the feel going as well as "Emergency". Theres a sound there that I would love to know what it is. I have to say though that my favourite track is definitely "Conspiracy". I can relate to feelimg paranoid about everyone acting against you. Haley Williams vocals shine extremely bright here as well as the chord progression and Zac Farro's drumming.

In comparison to the other albulms coming up, this is definitely not a masterpiece in technical standards. While possibly my second favourite albulm (or favourite. I still need to listen to After Laughter), there are some flaws to the overall production. Drums can be a little sloppy (no disrespect), guitars can be similar and the bass is rather just there.

But I overlook those flaws to the fact that this was their first and for how young they were. They did a very good job on their first albulm and I love it very much. I ended up buying the cd for it cause its really good!

4.5/5
