Chef Ramsay decided to teach the chefs how to properly make risotto. He then tasked each team to recreate 20 perfect servings. It was a close race, but the men ended up seizing the victory as well as their first challenge win. The women were stuck with their first punishment while the men got to enjoy the perks of winning.
Later during dinner service, Walter was inconsistent with his garnishes and Mike underperformed with his wellingtons, but they, along with the rest of the chefs, managed to bounce back.
All except for one chef on the Red Team.
Michelle failed to deliver a single properly cooked portion of risotto. Eventually, her mistakes were too much for Chef Ramsay to forgive, and he eliminated her from the competition mid-service, ending her dream of becoming Head Chef at El Mirage in Atlantic City and winning Hellโs Kitchen.
Unlike her station partner, Cleo thrived on the appetizer station. After Michelleโs exit, she single handedly managed to finish appetizers for the Red Kitchen, becoming one of the standout performers of the night.
Both kitchens managed to complete service, and improved greatly from opening night. As a reward for their efforts, Chef Ramsay decided not to eliminate anyone else that night, keeping all of their dreams of winning Hellโs Kitchen alive.
Chef Ramsay: Seeing as we had such an excellent service last night, I wanted to use todayโs challenge as an opportunity to see if you can still properly communicate as chefs. For this challenge, youโll all take off your chef jackets and put one of THESE jackets on. On the back of each of these jackets is a recipe. You must follow the recipe on the back of your jacket and create the dish it tells you to. With this challenge, you must rely on your teammates to communicate every step of the recipe to you. After you all have cooked your dishes, Iโll judge them head to head and give points to the winning dish each round. The team with the most points wins the challenge. Chef Ramsay: Hey, Walter! Come look at thisโฆ Iโve got a bland risotto thatโs stuck to the pan, and a salad that is DRENCHED in way too much dressing! What the fuck is up with this?

The only problems that come from the Red Kitchen are when Zlata sends in 2 raw racks of lamb, Cleo sends in one burnt chicken, and Gigi sends in one raw serving of halibut. The Red Kitchen manages to bounce back after this.
In the Blue Kitchen, howeverโฆ things are a complete mess.
Minor mistakes come from the meat station when Chris and Mac send in one raw New York strip each. Lee has communication errors on the garnish station which results in two of his garnishes being made too late.
The worst station of them all, however, is the fish station.
Mike has sent in one raw halibut and Ricardo has sent in two raw servings of salmon. Chef Ramsay eventually meets his breaking point after they make more mistakes.
Chef Ramsay: Hey, all of you! Come hereโฆ look at that. Ricardo has sent me raw, unseared scallops and Mike has sent me another raw halibut. This is a fucking JOKE! All of your stations are completely unorganized. I am DONE.
Chef Ramsay doesnโt call for the teams after service. He tells Sous Chef Pierre to tell the blue team that theyโre the obvious losers of the night and that they need to nominate 2 chefs for elimination, stating that he doesnโt even want to look at them.
The men discuss the major mistakes of the night. Jorge suggests that the biggest problems came from the fish station and that Ricardo and Mike should go up. Ryan, however, suggests that Walter should also go up seeing as his blunders on the Appetizer station stalled the whole kitchen. He also states that Walter is a weak link for their team anyway. Lee defends this idea, stating that Walter should go up instead of Mike since Mike only had problems with halibut, whereas Ricardo screwed up both salmon and scallops.
Walter attempts to defend himself by saying Lee deserves to go up due to his communication errors on garnish, but Lee defends himself by saying Walter should know how to cook risotto by now since the last 2 chefs got eliminated because they couldnโt make it.
The vote seems split. Everyone agrees that Ricardo is going up, but some people vote for Mike to go up with him while other vote for Walter to go up with him.
The Blue Team does, however, come to a majority decision.
The Blue Team meet with Chef Ramsay in the dining area for elimination while the Red Team watches from the side.
Chef Ramsay: Ladies, well done.

Ricardo and Walter then state one at a time why they each deserve to stay in Hellโs Kitchen.
Walter then walks up to Chef Ramsay, takes off his jacket, and hands it to Chef Ramsay.
Chef Ramsay: Listen carefully, big boy. Iโve placed you on 3 different stations across 3 different services, and you couldnโt pull it together on any of them. You are not ready to be my head chef.
