For their first individual reward challenge, the Black Jacket chefs were challenged to choose their ingredients using a very strict budget. They each attempted to make a dish that looked and tasted a lot better than what it was worth, but in the end, Ryan’s dish was deemed to have the highest value. He won the challenge, and took Zlata with him on a shopping spree.
In dinner service, Chef Ramsay revealed that he had invited some special guests to cook in the Blue Kitchen against the Black Jackets: a brigade of the past Hell’s Kitchen winners and runner-ups. During service, Ryan struggled on meat while Zlata struggled on apps, and the returning chefs were surprisingly inconsistent. Despite the hiccups, it was one of the best services in the history of Hell’s Kitchen. The returning chefs received an approval rating of 97% while the black jackets received a 99%.
Despite winning the service against the returning chefs, the Black Jackets were still asked to nominate one chef for elimination. The chefs nominated Zlata, but Chef Ramsay also wanted to hear from Ryan. However, Chef Ramsay decided not to send anyone home because of their near perfect service, keeping everyone’s dream of becoming Head Chef at El Mirage in Atlantic City alive.

Chef Ramsay: Let’s be honest… that service was underwhelming. Yes, we ended strong, but we made mistakes that I wouldn’t have expected this far down the line, and from each and every one of you. Compared to last night’s service, this was a joke. I want you to think of everything that has happened so far in this competition, and… based on everything… come up with 2 individuals for elimination. Now piss off.
The chefs go upstairs to deliberate on who should go up. Chris immediately says that his first vote is for Zlata due to her inconsistencies throughout the competition, but Zlata then suggests that Chris has not been a good communicator throughout the competition and has been sliding by from his cooking abilities. Dani then says that she thinks Gigi has been very on and off throughout the competition. When Dani suggests that Zlata and Gigi should go up, Zlata states that Dani is the youngest chef here, being 21, and therefore has the least experience and may not be fitted to being a head chef. Zlata says that her 2 nominees are Chris and Dani. Not wanting to go up, Gigi piggy backs on these nominations. Chris and Dani both vote for Zlata and Gigi. Ryan says that he doesn’t want for Zlata to go up due to his connection with her, and Cleo doesn’t want for Zlata to go up because she’s been doing well in challenges, therefore they both side with her as well.
The majority of the votes are for Dani and Chris to go up.
