You're tasked with submitting ONE Disney song in TWO versions. One version being it's original, the other being a cover of it!! How exciting!
- If you're unsure what counts as a Disney song you can ask us -
We (me and Blu VanitySmurf) will both be reviewing all of the submissions. A brief explanation of why you chose the cover you did would be great so we know where you're coming from with your submission will help us in evaluating :)
One winner either chosen by deliberation or highest overall score will get immunity for the next round!
The current immunity holders are CarolinaSteele and konohavillage1
The lowest overall scorers will be sent to a sudden death round where they face elimination.
Scores will be different this round since we are both evaluating all! TBA if you will receive scores out of 20 or 40.
Good luck!

Cover: I chose this cover because I love the remake of Beauty and the Beast and I love Emma Thompson’s voice, she truly makes the song hers with the way she sings it ❤️
Honestly THANK GOODNESS I have immunity for the disney round cause I am not a fan of disney music 👀 But I chose this song because it closely resembles my taste in music and vibe so it was the closest pick to being a genuine submission of my taste 😅
Cover Version: This is Halloween - Violet Orlandi
I chose this cover because I absolutely ADORE Violet, I listen to her alllll the time and was excited to see she covered this song. I think she did a fantastic job, and had tons of fun with it to! She kept the enthusiasm in it while adding a rock twist which as you know, rock is my sweet spot!
This was my first time hearing Pepita Salim and I’m sure glad I stumbled across her. This little girl has some pipes! She hits these high notes so smoothly..
Colors of the Wind is one of my favorite Disney songs and comes from my favorite Disney Princess, Pocahontas. The lyrics are so powerful and both versions of this song have so much emotion behind it!
I love this song, not only for its message, but also for the nostalgia it brings me. Watching this movie for the first time, I never really understood how much I would enjoy it, and hearing this song always makes me remember my own motivation and drive.
Cover:
Now my sister actually showed me the cover to this song a little while ago. The cover in my opinion has a lot more emotional than the original, while also showcasing Bolton’s talented vocal range. This cover is slower than the original, which helps build suspense and a sense of reward that the original does not. Anyways I hope you like it :)
Song choice: Speechless - Naomi Scott / 김종국 [Aladdin (2019) OST]
Cover: 김종국 (Kim Jong-kook) version
I am a huge Running Man (Korean reality show) fan and for them to do a Fan Meeting event that was so well-coordinated was a huge treat. The show's cast's only singer (Kim Jong-kook) stepped up for this solo performance of the exclusive song written for the live action version of Aladdin. He is known as the man with the mosquito voice, as he possesses a bodybuilder physique and an extremely high-pitched voice when he sings. This was the first occurrence that I ever heard this song and I was hooked on it since. It also displays Jong-kook's amazing vocal range and control.
Original: Speechless - Naomi Scott
This is simply an incredible song. The production and arrangement on it is literally out of this world. And along with Naomi Scott's smooth vocals, it makes for an addicting tune and adds a breath of fresh air into the live action version of the movie. I think it also compliments Jasmine's personality super well with the message it wants to deliver.
I chose this song because beauty and the beast is my favorite Disney movie and this song and scene always stand out to me. For me it's not just the song it's all the moving parts and just fun of singing inanimate objects. Also big bonus for me is they sing about food which has been a passion of mine since I was like 5 clearly because this scene always stuck out to me. I chose the movie as the cover because when I first saw it, it took all those feelings of amazement and enhanced them by the inanimate objects being more realistic.
