Ethan Zohn is the third winner of Survivor, beating Kim Johnson 5-2 to win Survivor: Africa. He is one of the most respected and well-liked winners of all time because of his overall clean game play. He aligned himself with Big Tom, Kelly, Kim J., and Lex. Lex and Ethan were incredibly close. All of them were able to make the merge. After an explosive fight, Kelly turned on them, but Ethan and his allies held onto the numbers, eliminating the remaining members of the other tribes. Kim ruined Tom, Ethan, and Lex’s plan by winning the last two immunities, resulting in them turning on one another. Ultimately, she chose Ethan to go to the end with because he “deserved” it. 
Kim Johnson is known for being the runner-up of Survivor Africa, losing to Ethan Zohn. She is the oldest woman to make it to the Final Tribal Council and oldest person to win final immunity. She was part of the Boran tribe, where she aligned with Ethan, Lex, Kelly, and Big Tom. After a tribe swap, she was able to communicate with her old tribe mates that Lindsey had votes cast against her, which was instrumental for them to have the numbers. Her alliance made the final four and they took out Big Tom. During the final immunity challenge, Kim won, ruining Ethan and Lex’s plan to go to the end together. Ultimately, she couldn’t convince the jury of her peers to grant her the win, losing to Ethan 2-5. Being the oldest person on the season, she expected to be the first voted out and defied odds and expectations.
Lex was the final member of the Survivor Africa jury and would later re-appear on the All Stars season. He was portrayed as sort of an antagonist and foil to his buddy/good guy Ethan. 
Big Tom was a charismatic goat farmer who appeared in both Survivor Africa and All Stars. In Africa, he was part of the Boran tribe, whom viewed him as a comical father-figure. He switched tribes during a tribe swap and remained in the majority after a successful tiebreaker went his way. He made the merge and reunited with his Boran alliance, consisting of Kim, Lex, Ethan, and Kelly. The Boran alliance (minus Kelly) stayed loyal to eachother, making the final four. In the final 4, the other three felt he was covering his strategy with his humor, voting him out 3-1 on Day 37. He voted for Ethan. 
Teresa, or T-Bird, was one of the most popular castaways from Survivor Africa. She started off on the Samburu tribe, who enjoyed a winning streak initially. An age divide forced Teresa into aligning with the other older members of the tribe, Carl, Linda, and Frank. A tie breaker resulted in her alliance being in the minority. She was a sitting duck, but was saved by a tribe swap. She and Frank joined Boran. Teresa was instrumental in the initial vote outs once the tribes merged. She won the first Individual Immunity and used it as leverage (her anonymous vote for Lex creating discord in the tribe). But the Samburu tribe didn’t stick together, so one by one they were eliminated, ending with T-Bird herself, who was voted into the jury Day 36. She voted for Ethan to win the game.
