I like potatoes. They lead on to nice things like baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, steamed potatoes, potatoes with bacon bits, cream and chives.
But it is the hot potatoes, during preparation, that you have to watch out for. They entice you, lure you with their scent, and when you think it's alright, when you want to sink your teeth into them, they hurt you. They burn. They scorch. They flame. It is not their intention (perhaps, maybe) to do that, but still, you suffer pain.
No more hot potatoes for me. I'm done. Just going for the end result. That awesome potato that will want me to eat it without surprising me with a burnt mouth.
