The One

imagePeople always talk about how they are still searching for 'The One', that one person who checks all the boxes in their checklist, that makes them quiver from head to toe with a glance from them or perhaps, the one who is there to make them feel 'complete'. Personally, the concept of 'The One' is constructed by our own selves. It becomes a standard for what we look for in a partner. Don't get me wrong, standards are good, but sometimes, one becomes so obsessed with having everything perfect that you end up overlooking the imperfections, that actually make that person perfect. You are too busy chasing the dream to see that the dream is on a silver platter right before you.

Relationships? If it doesn't work out, sure, have a cry, have some chocolate, hang out with friends. BUT, never think of it as a mistake. Nothing in life is a mistake. It is just something you found that did not work, and that such a relationship is something you definitely do NOT want. Failed relationships are just stepping stones to find that one special person whom you meet for the first time, and everything just clicks. Well, it wouldn't necessarily have to be on the first meeting that sparks fly, but over time, from acquaintances you become friends, good friends before you finally hit that ball for a home run.

Dating and romance is key. Everyone wants to feel loved, treasured and have a sense of worth. It gives you that additional incentive to wake up in the morning and go "I'm going to make so-and-so proud. They care for me." It's the little, thoughtful things that slowly add up. And if one makes a mistake, apologise profusely and immediately. They tolerate your nonsense so it's the least you could do.

Well... That's all I have to say for the moment. I'm a mixture of happy, sad, resigned, tired and drained. A crazy cocktail of goodness-knows-what. Dare to drink me?
