Simply put, does knowing the story ruin a movie/TV show or does it improve the experience knowing what's going to happen?
Normally, I'm alright with reading books before going to watch movies (eg. Harry Potter, The Chronicles of Narnia, Twilight, Hunger Games, Divergent, Along Came a Spider/Kiss The Girls).
But for ALL the book series (besides Harry Potter) which I named, I got angry about the things which were missing or changed. (Harry Potter not so much because they got the key parts of the story on track...gotta love author involvement)
And THAT spoils the movie for me. :(
I mean I love watching characters I've only imagined being enacted on screen (except for Twilight because I literally disliked everyone except Carlisle).
I know the people who do read things before have an ego boost about being more knowledgeable than those who didn't, but don't you think it has the possibility of ruining the adaptations because you spend more time comparing?
No? XD
