Good evening all! Week 1 of Celeste’s Music Game is about to wrap up and damn, what a wide selection of songs!
🚨 With the new points twist, you will all receive points for each submission the first 4 weeks, based on your placement in the ranking. The winner of each week has to steal 5 points from a participant of their choice. The first person to hit 40 points (if anyone does) after 4 weeks, wins a special power and immunity! Good luck.
The theme for week 1 was personal favorites so I could get the chance to see what you guys like, and I definitely discovered some new gems I didn’t know about.
This was so hard! No suggestion was bad, but some stood out more than others.

No explanation needed for this pop culture classic. This is literally the definition of what a pop song should be, and in addition to that the video is a masterpiece. She broke barriers! We have a winner.
That means Blahblahblahblah is the winner of week 1! CONGRATS! With the twist, you must now choose someone to steal 5 points from within the next 24 hours in my PM’s. Your person of choice must have at least 5 points already.
I’ve heard this somewhere before and I loved it! I forgot to Shazam it so thank you. Very energetic and uplifting, this will be one for the CLUBS when they re-open in 2040.

I’m shook...I’ve had this on my playlist for ages and I didn’t think anyone else knew about it. It’s so good...You posted a stripped down version, and I like the uptempo one more - but I’ll let that slide since it’s the same song. A great submission!

Saweetie & Doja Cat - “Best Friend”
A refreshing BOP! I feel like this would be our jam while we conquer the world, doing a road trip in USA or something. I feel like I’ll stream this a lot during summer.
Wow this was very unexpected, I LOVE The Cranberries. Dolores was a legend, it’s a shame she passed away. It’s not my favorite song of theirs, but it’s up there.
Lana is one of my all time faves, but this song just doesn’t live up to her previous material IMO. Lanas songs have a way of growing on me though, so perhaps my opinion will be different in a few weeks! But for now, this is kinda inbetween for me.

Laura Braningan - “Gloria”
I love Laura and I wish she didn’t pass at such a young age :( Gloria is a classic and I appreciate it, but I like Self Control much more. Gloria is a cute song, but not my 1st choice for an 80’s classic. A good submission though.
Okay, confession time....I LOVE old school boy bands! This isn’t a favorite song for me, but I love the nostalgia. A guilty pleasure of the 2000’s. A refreshing and unexpected submission!
The video is so visually appealing and this sounds so fresh to me. It didn’t “wow” me, but I still enjoyed! Makes me wanna chill in the pool with a Mimosa.
LMAO I’m on the floor....I knew you would bring something unexpected. This is NOT my new jogging anthem, 13, but I have to applaud you and give you bonus points for bringing in an unique submission.
This is not my usual style as I enjoy more uptempo stuff, but I have to say I kinda enjoyed this and the lyrics even though it didn’t blow me away! I appreciate that you picked a different style than most people did! I really need to discover more non-chart pop music, so HMU with suggestions any time!
This had potential for a minute but all in all it just didn’t really capture my attention. Maybe it’s a grower. This is a bold choice though, so kudos for that! I’m definitely gonna check this artist out.
This is very cute and self-empowering, but at the same time it kinda sounds like a song I’ve heard 100 times before if you know what I mean? It sounds like a song that would be an album track on a Selena Gomez album or something. Not bad though!
Don’t get me wrong, I really like Taylor...it’s just that most of her songs before 1989 didn’t really catch my attention. Red was a decent album, but this one didn’t stand out for me. The lyrics is beautiful though, and I definitely understand your choice if you like slower songs!
