get pre-finaled aka 3rd/4th place in a game knowing you had a great if not best chance of winning based on the jury, or go into finals with a stronger competitor than you but still having the chance to explain your case in case something shifts in your favor?
I definitely would rather get pre-finaled for being a big threat than get runner-up that had little to no shot.
