I can promise you FTWD is better than the walking dead ever was. I just watched seasons 1-3 on Hulu recently.
Every episode is good, as opposed to the walking dead who has 3 good episodes a year, the season premiere, mid-season finale, and season finale. So unbelievably predictable. The Walking Dead fills most of its episodes with irritatingly boring plot-filling episodes. FTWD also has freedom of universe, so they are less restrained than its comic book predecessor regarding storyline.
As a fan of the whole university of The Walking Dead, I can tell you that Fear The Walking Dead is way better and It gets better with each season. Strongly recommend!!
