I didn't hate this season at all... although I definitely agree it isn't a top 10 season for most people.
here are some takeaways:
- the religion thing is SUPER jarring but the cult storyline is pretty engaging
- the fact that the cult alliance is called The Family is pretty awesome
- Coach dominates this season
- this is Coach's best season
- Coach would have gotten more jury votes if he turned down the Coachness and owned up to his game at FTC
- the winner is an excellent winner and part of my S40 Inside Survivor Dream Tribe
- Brandon Hantz is a big YIKES this season but provides decent entertainment
- Whitney and Rick should've gotten bigger edits than they did, particularly Rick
- Christine dominates Redemption Island until Ozzy strutted in there
- Christine would be a pretty interesting addition to another Second Chance season!
- I hated Dawn when I watched Caramoan but DAMN is South Pacific Dawn pretty great
- Cochran definitely proves he should be on the Favorites tribe (so does Dawn, I suppose Brandon is the only flop from the SP returnees on Caramoan)
- Redemption Island didn't feel horrible this season or Blood vs. Water... so I guess I am not much of a old school Survivor purist?
- I finished this thing in like 4 days so it kept me pretty engaged
- Ozzy literally acts like Joe did on S38
