Let's start off with our saddest award, so many great personality left us in the great year of 2021. To name a few, my person of the year in 2021 Captain Sir Tom Moore died at age 101. Halyna Hutchins sadly had her life taken in a freak 'accident', The husband of Queen Elizabeth Prince Charles died at age 99 and Sarah Harding unfortunately lost her life at such a tender age after battling Cancer. However, the death that really hit me hard and made me depressed for days is a woman who made British Television iconic with her tantrums and her unintentional humour. This was a very hard category for me. There were many stand out singles from the year of 2021. Maneskin rose to fame with Zitti e buoni, Good 4 U smashed charts worldwide, getting a number 1 in 9 countries, and we can't ignore Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits" (even though I'd want to). Lil Nas X came very close to winning the award with "That's What I Want" but all in all my award went to a woman who came back into the music industry, wrote a heartfelt album and just all in all made me go through every emotion with each of her songs. There were many celebrities we would all want to forget and leave behind in this year. Donald Trump has literally gone off the face of the earth after the Capitol riots, I seriously have not heard or seen him anywhere and it's great. I could name the entire UK cabinet for being complete and utter liars. Piers Morgan for blocking me on Twitter and Meghan Markle is a very annoying lady. Jussie Smollett faking a hate crime is despicable so all of these people were great candidates. However, one pompous imbecile with the worst hair I've ever seen and the most disgusting tub of lard I've ever laid my eyes upon. This scum of the earth has lied to the British public time and time again and just expected us to not notice, he's partied when we all made sacrifices and I could go on and on about how awful this man is. This was a superb year of Reality TV and so many people could have gotten this award. Lawrence Chaney and Bimini Bon-Boulash were the stars of Drag Race UK. Rose Ayling Ellis did amazing on this year of Strictly, winning a dance competition as a deaf person and I also enjoyed Jojo Siwa on Dancing with the Stars. Hannah Chaddha was a kind and genuine person on Big Brother 23. However, the winner of this award goes to an absolute queen who came up with one of the most successful alliances in Big Brother history. An amazing year for movies. I did an entire Disney binge but I know 99% of those don't count since we are only focusing on movies from 2021. Raya and the Last Dragon deserves an honourable mention for making me cry, and Cruella was a great movie. Malignant and Free Guy were some of my friends favourites of this year and I can't forget about about The House of Gucci staring superstar Lady Gaga! Overall however, the movie winning this award was one that made me laugh, cry and smile, and you can't convince me that the two main characters don't have chemistry cause they scream gay vibes. We've had the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to our moment of 2021. Meghan Markle's interview with Oprah definitely stole headlines and the Olympics was a brilliant showcase of talent at a very depressing time for many people. Piers Morgan's dramatic walkout had all of our jaws dropping and the cast of Friends reuniting after so long was amazing for friends of the show. However the moment that takes the cake for me is a more low-key event that many brits will remember. Many people will know that Local Councils can have their drama, and there's still a lot of misogyny in politics, so this local parish meeting went viral after Jackie Weaver stood up to some men in the call, it was an iconic British moment with many memorable quotes. There are many potential candidates for Politician of the year. From America, we have AOC and Bernie Sanders, the latter of which gave us an amazing meme during the inauguration of Joe Biden. Angela Rayner is an amazing Labour politician who isn't afraid to say it how it is and the iconic Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson who quit on the day she was elected and then returned a few weeks later. Another mention to Jacinda Ardern, who is an example to leaders around the world, although she isn't winning this years award due to being the incumbent winner. I could give arguments for many people to win this award this year. From the Olympics, Max Whitlock for being a star when it comes to the world of gymnast and Jason Kenny for being Britain's most coveted Olympian. Kate Garraway deserves this award for all she's gone through with her husband Derek, who experienced one of the worst cases of covid in the world. Emma Raducanu, Mason Mount and Zendaya are other amazing candidates for the award. However, ultimately my winner is someone who represents the LGBTQ community with an amazing spirit, and especially in the Olympics he inspired so many people going through hard times (especially with his knitting). He's probably my favourite celebrity - I mean he's legit right next to my avatar - and I was so happy to see him get his first gold at the Tokyo games.
