Third week of Melodi Grand Prix, Hero has really grown on me and I find myself listening to it a lot more.
1. 馃嚦馃嚧 Emmy - "Witch Woods"
Structure- 7
Dynamics- 7
Contrast- 6
Overall Effect- 8
Score- 28
Comment- I feel like I'm in a circus, not a wood. I do have a feeling that this will grow on me but as of now this is a pile of shit that I will pick up, put in the trash can and carry on with my day. This can either have really good staging or extremely bad staging which will destroy it, I heard they'll have a throne on the stage so that could elevate things, I just feel like this is extremely cheap for Norway, I don't expect Discover Weekly songs in Melodi Grand Prix. The gays love it but I don't think the juries will.
2. 馃嚦馃嚧 Big Daddy Karsten - "Smile"
Structure- 6
Dynamics- 8
Contrast- 6
Overall Effect- 9
Score- 29
Comment- I'm not kidding when I can say I actually really like this. It's such a banger and the chorus is absolutely catchy and I can't get enough it. This is a rap song I can get behind! This is actually quite a strong heat minus the demon of Emmy. I think this is a wholesome, enjoyable song that I can get behind
3. 馃嚦馃嚧 Dinaye - "Own Yourself"
Structure- 6
Dynamics- 5
Contrast- 7
Overall Effect- 7
Score- 25
Comment- This is Motivation! This could go into a movie like Zootopia, she really sells this song and uplifts it! I absolutely love the lyrics and her energy just bounces off onto you, this will be a spectacle live.
4. 馃嚦馃嚧 Ole Hartz - "Vi er Norge"
Structure- 7
Dynamics- 7
Contrast- 6
Overall Effect- 9
Score- 29
Comment- I adore this! how iconic that this came out a few days after the Sea Shanty became a massive hit. It's just so Norway and so Scandinavian. Throughout the song my mood just lifted and I personally think it's a better version of Ja Ja Ding Ding.
