The Menu (HBO Max).

The film focuses on a young couple who visits an exclusive destination restaurant on a remote island where the acclaimed chef has prepared a lavish tasting menu, along with some shocking surprises.

Okay so stop reading here if you don鈥檛 wanna see any spoilers. But this movie was pretty horrible to be honest. It has a pretty interesting theme and the idea itself actually has some serious potential. But the script was a mess. None of the characters were relatable and there was no sense of urgency for the situation they were in. You keep waiting for the guests to do more to try and escape the situation but they all seem to just be chill with being killed. The ending even was like wtf why are they all just sitting there lmfao.

The acting actually wasn鈥檛 too horrible, but there wasn鈥檛 much the actors could do with the characters. The characters lacked motives and a proper backstory. Even the working chefs, there鈥檚 so many holes as to why they all so willfully wanna just die. The main chef鈥檚 motives for conducting this deadly menu even lacks depth. I wish we could have seen these characters fight for their lives. I get it was supposed to be a thriller/comedy satire. But like where are the jokes. I didn鈥檛 laugh not one time. And nothing about the movie except the menu descriptions that pop up on the screen even gives off satire vibes. It was a big miss.

My overall opinion is not worth the watch. For those of you that have seen it, what did you think?
