On both Google and Microsoft Edge anytime I search anything instead of it being their search engines aka GOOGLE and whatever Microsoft Edge's is
It is instead YAHOO
and I have searched for information on how to fix this, yet nothing I have done so far has worked.
Apparently this means I have a like search bug virus on my laptop or something but I don't know how to get rid of it so please HELP because this is really annoying.
run this it should get rid of whatever it is on your computer forcing the homepage to change to yahoo - after you run it though it might still be on yahoo so just follow this and it should stick:
U can temp fix it by just setting ur search engine back to chrome in your settings
Perm fix ur gonna have to find what gave u the virus and get rid of it. There r some free Anti-Malware software out there (I think the best one is called malwarebytes iirc) that can help find the files. Also check ur task manager and see what the program is called, I used to get one called Chromium or something that was super annoying but it was really easy to get rid of u just had to clear it with malwarebytes and then end the processes in ur task manager
yeah i use malwarebytes and highly recommend the free download of it for future reference! i will say i've had problems with google in general as a browser, especially since they plan to remove the functionality of adblock (which you should def get if you don't have it), so i also suggest switching to firefox in the future if you want a safe, reliable browser.
