X Factor Songs 1 Dec 6, 2008
Eoghan Quigg: Despite my reservations, the young Irishman proved his worth after eight weeks of mediocre performances, he finally settled himself with the punk rock genre. Performing Busted's "Year 3000", the sixteen year old from Dungiven has proved that his first song was a brilliant start to the show. With brilliant comments, his second song "Does Your Mother Know" will have to be even better to keep him in.
----
Diana Vickers: Jeez, this girl sure proved Louis Walsh wrong. With her choreographed performance, Diana sang Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend". She had a massive set, and her vocal (although not perfect) carried the song at an amazing standard. After four or five weeks of pitchy songs or intense pressure, Diana has learnt to enjoy and she has shown that in performance. She was also met with four brilliant comments, and her next song "White Flag" will have to perform just as well.
----
Alexandra Burke: The set and the choreography were amazing, and while I was worried the song would ruin her. Alexandra proved she can carry a note to disco music in Rihanna's "Don't Stop the Music", although much like Leona she extended the notes and made them flat. Alexandra and Leona Lewis cannot carry disco themes. Alexandra will hopefully have done enough to get her through, but if she stays it will be her performance of "Un-break My Heart" will have saved her. Despite my reservations on her voice, Alexandra was met with four great comments.
----
JLS: Singing "Umbrella" JLS took to the stage, transforming the song into a ballad before transforming it into the remix. Although the dancier aspect was removed, the boys removed the dancier aspect of the song. As Aston once again took the lead with a flawless vocal, although their harmony was out of tune. However, they pulled it out of thew rut at the end. They recieved brilliant comments from the four judges also.

To All Diana Haters Dec 5, 2008
i like diana, that is my opinion. you are more than welcome to dislike her if that is your opinion but you all need to stop mouthing off about her on my blogs. and by this i mean largely alex1991. we get it, alexandra is you're favourite. yes she's talented. but you cannot compare diana to her because diana is not her. diana may not be entirely original, with the likes of kate bush and the lead singer from the cranberries, but at the end of the day her voice is more unique than alexandra's and ruth's. they are typical diva's. i loved ruth but there's no point saying her voice was something it's not, she may have sung rock ballads but she was never a rocker. and also for those of you who say diana cannot pronunciate, listen to everyone of ruth's songs again. particularly "purple rain" and "always", the start of both songs is unintelligible. i am not saying that diana is the best out there, but the girl has talent. she's made it to the final four, and unless thousand's of people are tone deaf you have no right to insult her at every opportunity. alexandra can sing. jls can sing. eoghan can sing. so, what makes you think diana can't? is it because she's the only real threat to alexandra if they both make the finals? you cannot watch one video on youtube or read the press in the uk without reading something disparaging about diana. she is a seventeen year old girl who took the chance for her dream, and this is the thanks she gets? a constant onslaught of derorgatory and often rude terms thrown her way. it's unfair. you have every right to think what you want, but post it in any of my blogs in the future, and you're comment would be deleted. would you treat someone you knew like that if they were on x factor or american idol or something? no. so you shouldn't treat others that way ... just grow up, all of you. Dancing Diana Dec 5, 2008
although she has only performed a minimalised dance routine during her cover of the blondie classic, "call me" (on rollerskates no less). diana is set to dance again after brian friedman's failed attempt with the all saints song "never ever". (cheryl cole replaced the track with "yellow" by coldplay on the friday night so brian and diana were told to scrap the choreography). although her songs, and those of the other three acts, remain shrouded in mystery. trying something new will bring back old diana, if done correctly. brian better be good. :]
