If you eat out at a restaurant and the bill

Mar 18, 2018 by Timster
Is $15 would you tip $3? That's 20%. $3 seems like a really low tip BUT ITS ONLY A 15 DOLLAR BILL AND WHY SHOULD I FEEL OBLIGATED TO PAY MORE FOR SOMEONE FILLING UP MY DRINK ONE TIME AND ASKING IF THE FOOD IS OKAY?

Usually if you're bill is $15 then you weren't there a while. I have no problem tipping 2-3 dollars if the bill the a small bill, usually they have multiple tables.

spacebryce yes! I have bills to pay I shouldn't have to give away my whole wallet to the waiter if I'm paying the desired percentage!

Timster There's been times when my bill would be like 11 dollars and some odd cents, id be like welp my 15% tip is a little over a 1.50 which feels soooo bad but if youre bill is that low then usually youre not there for over 30 minutes.

Usually if I am alone I leave anywhere from $3-$6. If the bill is steeper than usual, maybe $8.
