#LaCroix: Shawn Mendes - There's Nothing Holding Me Back
When Shawn Mendes put out this song after that very uneven first album I was blown away, like goddamn maybe this man is actually worth keeping around! I do like a lot of what I've heard from him but I have to say, there is one thing that really is, so to speak, holding this song back. That guitar line after the chorus is so limp and weak, it's just BEGGING for some big explosive riffs but he just kinda plucks a couple notes and moves on. I'm not saying it ruins the song but I am saying it really was one small change away from being truly excellent. Still a really good song though!

Okay! First off, I think it's pretty awesome that you went above and beyond and submitted a song that fit BOTH categories despite saying yall only had to do the first category listed, which was Canada. So first off, I don't think there's ever gonna be a better producer than Timbaland. That man is, was, and will always be a deity in the music industry. I don't think he's missed once with his beats, this man is what other producers wish they could be, this level of consistent greatness. As for Nelly Furtado, yeah she sounds pretty great here. The lyrics really are inessential for this type of song, they just needed someone who sounds good and could match the vibe and when it comes to those 2 aspects she does a damn great job!
