This next season is one that was just bad. Not Holland and DU1 bad. Just it's own unique bad.
Coming in at forty-two is Drag Race Italia 2.
CAST: I mean eight girls for a debut season is not good. Nine is weirdly doable though? Idk. The thing is that if you're gonna do a season with that little representation, you gotta make sure that they all line up to potential star quality. I only saw that with maybe two girls....Farida and Le Riche. Do not come for me Electra stans. All in all it was very lackluster.
CHALLENGES: I feel like the challenges were very hit or miss for me. The first challenge being the worst for me. Ivana in the top made zero sense to me, and the double save that followed pissed me off. I'll get into that in a bit. However, Farida in her makeover challenge was by far the best part of the season. The vampire gag gagged me! She was just on a level that the others wished she could have been in. In the end, it was lackluster.
MY ISSUE WITH ELECTRA BIONIC: I am not denying that she is a beautiful and talented queen. But I was one of a few that was livid at her winning. In the challenges, she did have top moments. But I do feel not having a win going into finale would not have fared well with me. Farida and Le Riche were the top two that season. That is how it should have been in all honesty. I just feel the win put her in the bottom for me of all winners for the sheer fact that I did not see it as deserved.
THE FUCKERY THAT WAS ENORMA VS AVA: So it was clear that Enorma was not favored by the other girls. Like at all. Some of the hate was very unwarranted. But then at the same time Enorma was a big instigator for several of the altercations. So it was a wrong on this end, and a wrong on the other. Ava on the other hand was a queen with one of the worst attitudes I have seen. The whole truck driver comment was nothing compared to other queens in the seasons past. Adore in AS2? Violet in S7? TKB in S6? I just felt her reaction was extreme. I get the frustration though. What makes this scenario WTF for me was that they lip synced for disqualification? Which to me was a joke. I just felt they could've just let them off with a warning for their behavior, OR send them both home because they contributed nothing to the season.
FINAL REVIEW: The season was a mess. Everything about it was a mess to me. Italia 2 did for sure redeem itself. Despite WTF judging. So here is hoping that future franchises see this, and know what NOT to do before they start filming.
Favorite Queen: Farida Kant. I loved her looks. I loved her take on challenges. She was the rightful winner.
Least Favorite Queen: Tbh half of the cast could be here. But I will go with Luquisha Lubamba. I hated her runway looks. I hated her drag name (to me it was very offensive). I think she was a dead fish in a season filled with dead sharks.
Favorite Lip Sync: Kobra by Donatella Rettore ig (Ava vs Divinity)
Least Favorite: Champion by RuPaul (Enorma vs Ava)
