So I think I counted 45 seasons. I hope I am right lmao. Many franchises are in this countdown. Including All Stars and vs The World.
These ranks will be judged based on overall preference, cast, challenges and controversies.
With that said, let's get to my least favorite season of all time.
That being Drag Race Down Under Season 1.
Where do we begin with this flop season? Starting with the cast I suppose. Half of the cast was super dull. Not to mention super ignorant. But I will get to that later. It was a Season 1 US vibe in a new generation of drag. Not good at all.
The challenges were okay at best. Except for the talent show. What the fuck was Ru, Michelle and Rhys smoking to conclude that Kita and Elektra were the worst? The riggery was made so obvious in every challenge it was not funny.
Onto riggery, let's talk Art Simone. Allegedly Art and Coco had a lip sync showdown to determine who would come back. If someone can confirm this, please do. I feel the return either way was deemed unwarranted. Which changed the course for the rest of what was considered a mediocre season.
Now the icing on the cake was The Three Bigoted Blondies. Scarlet Adams, Karen on Welfare, and Art Simone. The strings of controversies surrounding their racism was unreal. Scarlet being the worst of them all, the blackface, trying to be part of a culture that wouldn't welcome her unseasoned ass, and the fake apology makes me say she is the worst contestant the world has ever seen.
In the end of the day, this season almost ruined their shot in proceeding. Kita winning just didn't even feel like a win deserved. It was more I need to save my ass by giving Wannabe Trixie Mattel a shot. Everything that could've went wrong with this season went wrong. Season 2 thankfully made up for it. But not a lot to make me a devoted DU Fan.
Fuck DU1. Goodbye. Next!
Best Contestant: Anita Wigl'it. She just had a heart too pure for a season that did her dirty.
Worst Contestant: Scarlet Wannabeblack Adams. But special fuck you to Karen, Art and Coco.
