So my family and I got Covid Sep 18, 2023
When I tested positive, my step mom was making a joke how my  vaccination didn’t do shit. Like my step sister and myself are the only ones vaccinated. She is feeling it a lot worse and I’m doing fine like I have a semi bad flu. I had Covid before and been vaccinated 3 times.

Who the fuck educates people about false facts about vaccines? VACCINES NEVER BEEN ADVERTISED TO PREVENT ILLNESS. They inject a weakened virus to teach your immune system how to destroy the virus when you do become infected so you do not need to be hospitalized.

It’s 2023… still negative stigma 🤷‍♂️

I subbed for sped students today Aug 25, 2023
It's kind of sus that special education students behaved better than regular students at the high school I worked at. I scored $200 today (an extra $11 for being in the sped department).

It's really sad that the sped teacher is unable to teach at all due to being the only teacher at the school writing IEPs, having meetings all day, and being an aide because there are only 3 aides to help with 7th - 12th graders with needs. There needs to be a easier pathway for those who want to teach, but the exams and cost make it impossible...

Fuck being a K-12 Teacher Aug 21, 2023
Wanna know the basic requirements to become a single-subject Social Science California teacher?????

- Pass a CBEST Exam ($30 per section; 3 total) (Or get a B or better in required coursework)
- Pass the CSET Exams ($99 per subtest; 3 total).
- Complete a Teaching Credential Program (2 Years of extra post-BA/BS education) (Varies, but may cost $20,000 - $30,000)
- Complete Student Teaching (3 - 4 months of full-time unpaid lead observed teaching).
- You have to pay for other exams for your assessment of being observed and even more, depending on multiple subjects.
- Not to mention the background check, fingerprinting, and other fees that may require renewal.

Requirements to teach at a junior college:
- A master's degree OR a master's degree in a different discipline with 18 graduate credits in the respective discipline you are applying to teach.
- 1 - 2 Years of post-BA/BS education which may cost $20,000 - $30,000 (Your masters degree program)
- No exams to prove you are a subject expert.
- No credential is required.

I think I understand why we have a national teacher shortage. Like just incorporate Teaching credential programs with existing master's degrees with like 4 - 5 extra education classes to prepare to teach. A master's degree should be enough to prove you are an expert.

I was wanting to get a credential in social science, but fuck that extra debt and nonsense exams. I heard most of your learning of becoming a better teacher is done on the job. I'm not bashing K-12 teachers, but this is to bring awareness to how much our society SHIT on teachers and does not respect how much effort they do for their dream career to teach kids who most likely won't respect them and be disrespected by parents who don't even have an undergrad degree or a high school diploma.

FUN FACT: Not only do the fucking exams cost a lot if teacher candidates fail them, but a major reason why they do not finish their program is because they cannot afford to work full-time for free. Internships are challenging to get and must be approved by the CTC.

FUN FACT #2: California used to require a community college teaching credential, but that requirement was removed because of a professor shortage. LOL

AGAIN... WHAT THE FUCK. I rather be a sub and tutor while teaching sociology courses at a community college than get credentialed for K-12...

Do pre-game rookies comment count? Aug 19, 2023
I always wonder if the algo only counts the +/- of your first comment and ignores any other additional comments during the waiting period. You would figure comment rating would be disabled or they do count but less significant (+4 would be +2 / +1 would be +0 for pregame). Maybe it could be an advantage to spam while waiting for hours for a game to fill idk.
