The tributes are lifted into this year’s cornucopia, which is just a giant circle made up of large black stones and minerals. In the distance, many bright and blinding lights coming from buildings and skyscrapers can be seen.
The tributes look at the bags of supplies on the ground as they wait for the games to begin.
10, 9, 8...
Biba and Zoë give each other a nod, indicating that they both know what they want to do once the games commence.
7, 6, 5...
Lilyanna forgets what she’s doing, and suddenly feels the need to move around, feeling tired from standing. However, after she lifts one foot in front of her, it suddenly falls off of the pedestal. Lilyanna tries to save herself, but it’s too late.
Her foot touches the ground, and...
BOOM!
The tributes try to ignore the early casualty and focus on the bloodbath ahead.

Warren gives a look to Amy, but Amy is looking the other way.

California looks at all of the other careers and nervously hopes that they don’t force her to kill anyone.

Arandon gives a nod to Hilary, who looks excited to do what he says.

Melony looks scared at everything she sees.

The tributes begin running to claim supplies.
Ethan grabs what he needs as runs off into the city quickly, and one really notices that he was there.
While some people spotted Dice running, he was also able to grab what he needed and run off into the city without getting into a fight with another tribute.
Cider tries to go for the bag farthest away from any other careers. Unfortunately, one career thought ahead of that.
As soon as Chad sees Cider run for the bag, he immediately runs as fast as he can over to her. Before Cider can even attempt to fight back, he snaps her neck.
BOOM!
Chad then tries to join his fellow careers.
Meanwhile, Arandon and Hilary have met up with each other.
Arandon: Let’s kill some people! Like that small girl over there!
Before Arandon says another word, Hilary goes charging at the girl who Arandon was talking about.
However... the girl was Seraphine.
As soon as Seraphine sees Hilary charging forward, she immediately throws a knife. The knife lands in Hilary’s forehead, and abs drops dead immediately.
BOOM!
As soon as Arandon sees how quickly Hilary was taken down, he realizes he made a mistake. He locks eyes with Seraphine... and immediately begins running in the opposite direction. However, Seraphine still attempts to throw a knife at him, and it sticks in the back of his head, causing him to die instantly as well.
BOOM!
Seraphine then looks for her fellow careers.
Meanwhile, Cleveland is looking for people to kill. He’s noticed that a tribute has not moved from her pedestal at all.
Melony is too scared to move. Suddenly...
A giant sword is impaled straight through her chest. She is lifted up from the ground, and then thrown backwards. This finishes her off.
BOOM!
Cleveland, looking to be thirsty for blood, searches for his fellow careers.
California notices the brutal way in which her district partner murdered an innocent tribute,
Meanwhile, Elianna decides to try and take out a big threat, specifically a duo threat. She takes out a throwing knife and looks for Biba and Zoë.
She spots Biba standing alone, and throws her knife. However, Biba notices and dodges it. Elianna attempts to prepare another knife, but before she can, an arrow shoots into her skull from behind her.
BOOM!
Standing behind her holding a bow and arrow is Zoë. She reunites with her brother, and the two run off together.
Rex notices his district partner get killed and tries to join his fellow careers, not wanting to try and fight anyone. He eventually finds Chad, Seraphine and Cleveland, who are all together.
Meanwhile, Clyde is trying to gain control of the chaos, and decides to walk up to a strong fighter kid.
He walks up to Xander.
Clyde: Hey you! Don’t you even THINK about joining those other careers! You’re coming with me, you understand?
Xander is trying hard not to laugh.
Clyde: Don’t you laugh at me! I’M the adult, and you have to listen to ME. I AM—
Before Clyde can finish, Xander sticks his spear in his stomach. Clyde can only watch in shock.
Xander takes out his spear, and Clyde falls to his knees.
Xander: You’re not the boss, dumbass.
Xander then sticks his bloody spear in Clyde’s face.
BOOM!
Xander then looks for his fellow careers. He finds Sandra, who is snapping the neck of Anika.
BOOM!
As soon as Anika’s body hits the ground, Xander takes Sandra and finds the rest of the careers.
With all of the remaining careers united, they decide to run off into the city.
Meanwhile, Brett is planning on attacking a tribute.
Brett sees Amy all alone, and takes out a knife. However, before he reaches Amy, Warren jumps in front of her, posing to take the hit.
Brett knife hits Warren’s arm, and he immediately screams in pain. Amy notices and comforts Warren. Amy then takes out a knife of her own, but notices that Brett is gone. Amy then takes Warren and runs off into the city.
Julian and Meme notice that they’re the only tributes left in the cornucopia. They eye each other and take a bag, trying to see if the other will attempt to attack. Suddenly, at the same time, they both take off in the opposite direction, hoping the other isn’t following.
-Something Strange-
The careers are walking, taking shelter for the night.
Chad: We can stay in one of the buildings for tonight. Xander, you keep watch. If you see anything that’s out of your control, wake us up immediately.
The careers then sleep, with Xander keeping watch.
Later that night, with the rain still coming down heavily, Xander notices movement coming from his left.
Thinking he can easily take out whoever he saw, he runs after them.
Xander turns around the corner...

Instead of seeing one tribute, Xander instead finds several tall people wearing trench coats, with fedoras on their heads covering their faces.
They are also holding something.
They are each holding their own personal hand gun.
Xander stares in confusion, when suddenly...
All of the mysterious masked strangers shoot him dead.
BOOM!
The rest of the careers, who are all fast asleep, do not notice.
Suddenly, the fallen tributes of the day are not only shown in the sky, but on all of the screens in the city as well.
