The tributes are all freezing in the cold, snowy environment.
The countdown begins.
10, 9, 8...
Zay and Jess give each other a nod.
7, 6...
Farquad is disgusted by the cold, and is eyeing the biggest coat out in Cornucopia.
5...
Luna is looking everywhere trying to find the person she trusts the most, her district partner Dexter.
4...
Benji is keeping an eye on his little sister, and also keeping an eye on the careers.
3...
Lionel is looking at all of the reaped tributes with a thirst for blood.
2...
Kjoikl is eyeing what she thinks is the best bag in the arena.

Cass looks like she’s about to pass out.

-The Bloodbath-

All of the tributes have immediately began running for coats.
Ciera just takes the first coat and runs down the mountain without any other supplies.
Dean also does this, trying to cover his ears at the sound of the carnage that is about to take place.
Farquad has started running for the coat he was eyeing. As soon as he reaches it, he attempts to pick it up. However, he is immediately slashed with a machete.
He is on the ground in the snow, in pain. He looks up to see Gary holding a machete. Farquad tries to get away, but Gary taunts him.
Gary: Oh look at Mr. Perfect here! How’s this for perfect?
Gary then swing his machete right into Farquad’s skull.
BOOM!
Gary laughs at the tribute he just killed, and begins looking for his fellow careers.
Potato has gotten all the supplies she needs. Crysen happens to look at her as she’s running off. She gives him a threatening glance, and Crysen immediately looks elsewhere in panic. Both of them are able to leave Cornucopia safely.
Benji and Michelle have lost sight of each other due to the confusion. Benji is looking for his sister everywhere, but he can’t seem to find her.
Until...
He sees she’s being attacked by the District 2 tributes.
Lionel has a knife out while Jesabelle is holding Michelle in place.
Lionel is holding the knife to Michelle’s throat, ready to slice.
Benji runs as fast as he can to save his sister.
Right as Lionel is slicing his blade, Benji pushes Michelle out of Jesabelle’s hands and the two fall to the ground. Lionel’s blade, in place of Michelle’s throat, slashes the throat that was behind Michelle’s.
Lionel has accidentally slashed his district partner, Jesabelle.
Jesabelle quickly bleeds out.
BOOM!
Lionel quickly turns around to see Benji and Michelle running.
Infuriated, he quickly throws a knife at the siblings, and watches one of them fall to the ground.
BOOM!
Benji is now on the floor dead with a knife in his skull.
Michelle looks at her dead brother and realizes she has no time to grieve. She has to keep running.
Meanwhile, Dexter and Luna have met up with each other and have gathered coats and supplies, when suddenly someone runs right into Dexter.
Dexter falls to the ground and sees that Michelle has ran right into him on accident.
Michelle stumbles backward after locking eyes with Dexter, terrified.
Dexter: Wait! It’s okay!
Dexter offers his hand to her.
Michelle, now looking less terrified, takes his hand.
At that moment, Luna runs to a tribute that seems to be unconscious. It’s Cass.
Dexter helps Luna lift Cass up so they can carry her. Then, he, Luna and Michelle run down the mountain and look for places to hide.
Kinny has been getting as much supplies as she can. She suddenly runs into Danielle.
Kinny: What are YOU looking at?!
Danielle then immediately snaps her neck.
BOOM!
Danielle: Man, what a brat...
Danielle takes Kinny’s supplies and looks for her fellow careers.
Ben and Tybalt run into each other. Ben asks about forming a partnership, but Tybalt is too frightened to speak. He runs off with his supplies, leaving Ben confused. Ben eventually also runs off.
Jeremiah and Rosemary have both been able to meet up. They have enough supplies, but Jeremiah wants to have some fun and kill off some more tributes. Jeremiah picks one to go kill, but little does he know he just picked the wrong tribute to mess with.
Kjoikl is attacked by Jeremiah with Rosemary following behind him, not getting involved in the fight. Jeremiah tries to take Kjoikl by surprise, but she can easily hear his attack coming. She is able to dodge his attack and land a few attacks of her own.
Eventually, she is able to lead them to the edge of the mountain. An edge without a path. An edge where a long painful fall is waiting. Not knowing they’re standing in front of this edge, Kjoikl pushes them with every amount of strength in her scientifically engineered body. The two go off the edge, and a loud thud can be heard in the distance.
BOOM!
BOOM!
Kjoikl then leaves Cornucopia before drawing any more attention to herself.
After some time, all of the remaining careers are able to meet up. However, minus all of the currently dead careers, they realize they’re one person short.
Jordan: Abigail? Where are you?
...
Zay and Jess have met up with each other. They were both able to escape Cornucopia with supplies without getting the attention of the careers.
Little do they know... they’re being followed.
Zay and Jess are talking about the game when Jess suddenly feels a sharp pain in her leg.
Abigail has shown up seemingly out of nowhere, putting a knife in Jess’s leg.
She attempts to attack again, but Zay is able to quickly grab her and hold her up.
Abigail: Let... me... go!
As Abigail struggles, Jess takes the knife out of her leg and sticks it in Abigail’s skull.
BOOM!
Zay: What was that about?
Jess: I think it was that career girl from District 5.
Zay: The 13 year old? I thought she was supposed to be really strong... how did we kill her so easily?
Jess: She only had to beat about 5 other girls! It wasn’t difficult for her.
Zay: Hmm... I bet District 5 is disappointed right now.
Jess: Haha, yeah! They must be furious!
Zay and Jess take this time to regroup and bond a little more.
-Later That Night-
Everyone in the arena has found a comfortable place to camp out for the night... except Ciera.
Ciera has been walking down in the lowest part of the arena... a snowy woodland area.
Ciera can’t find shelter... and the sun is beginning to set.
Eventually, the sun sets all the way, leading to nightfall.
Ciera can suddenly feel the area around her getting colder.
She is now freezing, even when wearing the coat she got from the Cornucopia.
Ciera can feel the air getting colder and colder, and eventually she realizes this isn’t natural weather.
In what looks to be negative degrees, Ciera can suddenly feel her limbs going numb.
She falls into the snow, unable to move, unable to feel anything in her body...
Until...
BOOM!
-Cabin Fever-
Dexter, Luna and Michelle are all hanging out in a cabin while Cass is sleeping, still unconscious from the bloodbath.
Dexter: Geez... anyone else feeling that chill? It’s as if the air outside suddenly just dropped like 50 degrees! Can we get a fire going?
Dexter then lights a fire. As he does this, he notices that Cass is waking up.
Cass: W... what happened?
Dexter: Well... we basically saved your ass.
Luna: Y-yeah. We saw you on the ground... unconscious. So... we carried you here.
Dexter: Do you remember why you were unconscious?
Cass: Uhh...
Dexter: It’s okay, we’re not gonna hurt you.
Cass: Well... all I can remember is thinking about... killing. Thinking about blood and stuff makes me... well... I don’t like it.
Dexter: Huh. Interesting. Well... you don’t have to worry about us. We’re not gonna kill you as long as you don’t try to kill us.
Luna: W-we also saved... her.
Luna points to Michelle.
Michelle hasn’t talked the entire day. Dexter walks over to her, seeming very compassionate.
Dexter: Hey... what’s wrong?
Michelle is still silent.
Dexter: Hey... you can tell us. We can help you. Did something happen during the bloodbath...?
Suddenly, the fallen tributes are projected in the sky.

After seeing that Benji’s picture was projected, Cass is able to recognize who Michelle is.
Cass: Wait... is that the girl from District 3?
Luna: Th-the District that had... siblings as their tributes this year?
Dexter then confronts Michelle.
Dexter: Hey... did you watch your brother die?
Michelle then sadly looks up at him.
Dexter: It’s okay. I understand if you don’t want to talk about it.
To Dexter’s surprise, Michelle then speaks up.
Michelle: No... I’ll tell you. I’ll tell you everything.

End of Day 1!
Not a lot of tributes died in the bloodbath... but that just means I have a bunch of deaths planned for the next episodes!
16 tributes remain... and in tomorrow’s episode, I’ll be setting up more storylines between other tributes, and I’ll explore the mysterious chill that killed Ciera.
