Welp, guess now would be a good time to take a vacation from my usual Saturday night Castings. ^_^ So yeah, I'm taking a break from my journey to Silver Level for 2 weeks. lol

So as some people in my Contacts may have noticed, or lack thereof, I don’t go on Skype as often as I probably should. I mean, we have StraightLoonie and his new club, which I only found about because I somehow managed to find his blog even though we’re not on each others friends list on Tengaged, some people back on IMDb ask if I’m still alive, and I almost always miss out on calls (if I get invited to a call, I’ll try to make it to one if I get the chance). So with that, I wanted to address why I don’t always log on to Skype.
1. First, it’s not every night that I can even get on an actual computer early into the night. If I can get on the computer early, chances are I will probably log on. I may even download Skype from college if I have to now that I know how. However, my laptop is shared since we only have 1, so I sometimes have to go on the Internet on my 3DS, which doesn’t support Skype.
2. Some nights, I get really tired. Of course, during the week, that’s what naps are for, but I can’t always take a nap. I have to wake up early 4 days of the week now, and 2 of those 2 days, I work. Now, consider that I have to travel over 50 miles just to get to work. By train, I pass by 13 towns when I go to and fro work (this takes 2-4 hours, not counting how long I have to wait at my point of origin). By car, that number is at least 11, depending on which route I end up taking (normally takes about 50 minutes). Both of those mornings, I am waking up at just past 7 if it’s a weekday, and about 2 hours earlier if it’s the weekend or the trains run on a holiday schedule. Also on Fridays, I can’t be home till at least almost 10. It’s earlier on Saturdays if I am going home by car. This all contributes to how tired I get and how it affects my Skype time.
3. Whenever I am on Skype, I don’t go out of my way to talk to people, but that’s because I’m a lazy shit. :P But communication is a 2-way street, so it’s likely people don’t always go out of their way to communicate with me either. That said, I also don’t always know what people are up to, so I usually come to think that they are busy or something. So that leads me to think that it would be pointless to log on to Skype just for it to be a ghost town because I know I won’t be missing out on anything important. If I log on to Skype and I get to talk, I might stall if I’m talking to more than one group, but I will make an effort to try to get to everybody I can. But what do you think Skype is for? Communicating with other people, aka your friends. It defeats the purpose of Skype if there is no communication.
4. My Internet might go out on the ought occasion. This has already happened the one night I played 3 back-to-back Frookies, which is why I never play more than 1 Frookies at a time, if at all. It has also gone out for playing too much Zwooper and other stuff. That’s not to say my service isn’t reliable. If it wasn’t, I wouldn’t even have an account on here to begin with. But it is fragile at times, so I do try not to abuse it too much. My Internet going off has been reasons for why I don’t log onto Skype, and why I sometimes go to bed early.
5. This goes hand-in-hand with #4, and is very rare, but when I’m sick, I don’t log on. Some people can get like 15 keys in a Casting if they get sick. When I get sick, I get unusually tired, so I am fighting just to stay awake, and I have to do enough work with putting everything away as it is when I’m not sick. Since I’m on a shared computer, I don’t think it’s really courteous for me if I end up falling asleep on Skype.
So yeah, if I’m not on Skype, it’s probably for one of those 5 reasons. Sorry if this got you mad in anyway, but it is what it is. Have a good evening, and yolo.
Do you think I would be able to get Silver in no more than 75 games? Here are a few things to consider:
- My challenge scores are still nowhere near good enough for Survivor, especially if the challenge is Guitar or Wheel of Fortune, so I wouldn't stand a chance in that.
- Other than my Charity win, I have won Frookies exactly once out of 11 games.
- In Castings, my average placement is 3.31 after 16 games.
- When I came back from my latest hiatus, I had played 37 games and had 109 Karma. I have now played 59 games and have 404 Karma since I joined Tengaged.
- I have been unnommed the last 5 Castings I was in, 4 of which were consecutive wins.
- That 4-game Casting win streak was snapped earlier this week.
- I have not played any game past Frookies/Crookies.
- I would have enough T$ once my Karma DOES get to 600.
