Darrius - Let me start off by saying y'all was on our NECKS!!!!!! Like I was in love with the submissions. Y'all really shocked the hell out of us both.
Mike ( forcemike1) - Wow, everyone really brought it all to the table this week and left no crumbs!! So that鈥檚 why we decided to give you all a bye, but that just means these next couple of rounds will be very important if you want to continue on in the competition.
NOW TO THE RESULTS.
The following people are SAFE (In order of Submission):
Andrew ( iigalaxyii) - "Genie in A Bottle" by Christina Aguilera
Darrius - Yes miss christinaaaa, shes been used a lot during this competition but I think this is my fav submission for her. I love this song, I think I love how catchy and simple the song is. Not a lot of runs, not the growls just christina being a pop girl.
Mike - Happy birthday Xtina!!! Such a timeless bop, what a way to start us off. Your choices have been very consistent throughout so it's no surprise that you have the best chart. Another solid choice!
Pinkie ( pinkiepie512) - "Say My Name" by Destiny's Child
Darrius - A TIMELESS BOP. I love this song so much, its such a classic. The girls did what they had to do with this one. I just cant see how someone couldnt like this? One of the best girl groups of the 99鈥檚 and 2000鈥檚
Mike - I loved this lineup of Destiny's Child and as always, they did what needed to be done. They're icons in their own right and have served us bops on top of bops. Solid song choice, it's so timeless and will never get old in my eyes
Austin F ( austino15fffan) - "Scar Tissue" by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Darrius - I actually really like red hot chili peppers, along with this song I thought it was very cute. I think it was a little outshined by some of the other competitors today but it wasn鈥檛 bad at all.
Mike - This was a nice little change of pace. So far I've been a fan of all of the songs that have been submitted and this is no different. I think the tempo of the song made it fade a bit in terms of the other songs that have been submitted but let's see how the cards unfold.
Sub ( Sublegendd) - "I Want It That Way" by The Backstreet Boys
Darrius - I love this songggg so much, this is such a tough round. I was never really into boy bands like that but they definitely snapped with this one. You can鈥檛 help but sing a long. Great Choice
Mike - Another bop! Yall weren't leaving any crumbs this week. I have so many memories from this song and I'm glad this was your choice because it makes me very nostalgic. I'm waiting for you to have your moment.. and get your win! you're almost there, just need that extra push.
Congratulations, you 4 have made it to WEEK 6. Moving on to the Top 3.
Christian ( christian_) - "Livin' La Vida Loca" by Ricky Martin
Darrius - This song got me dancing in my room right nowwwww. I have never heard this song but its a BOP, and who is this ricky martin mannn he kinda hot LOL. The dancing in the video is so cute, this song really shocked me cause I didnt think I would like it as much as I did.
Mike - Tbh i was not expecting anyone to pull out Ricky Martin but I'm so glad you did! I love this song, it's so fresh and upbeat! Christian, you did what needed to be done! I had to look it up to figure out which movie soundtrack this was in and omg Shrek 2!! lmaooo. Anyways, amazing job!!
Darrius - BACK AT IT AGAIN WITH DESTINYS CHILD鈥ND I LOVE IT. I can relate to this song sooooo much cause if you can鈥檛 benefit me?? GET THE F#$! OUT. Great choice from the lovely ladiessss Beyonce & Kelly + others.
Mike - Tonight has been full of bops and it continues!!! Of the two DC songs submitted tn this one takes the cake for me. Great song choice and keep it up!
Darrius - Another BOP!! May Left Eye Rip because I LOVED HER. I feel like Bills Bills Bills, everyone can relate to this. You havent had your breakout song yet and I think this was a great decision.
Mike - This right here transcends generations. No scrubs is and will always be a bop. Fantastic choice, RIP to the legend Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes and may her legacy continue to live on!
AND THE WINNER OF WEEK 5 IS...... AUSTIN MINAJ!!!!, you have won immunity for next week. Congratulations to you 3 for representing the Highs of WEEK 5.
Now...to the Bottom 2 :
Paige ( paige54) - "Mambo No. 5 (A Little Bit of...)" by Lou Bega
Darrius - This one just didn鈥檛 do it for me tonight babes, your choices usually either sit well with me or I love them but you fell short with this one. I think if you did not have immunity this week you wouldve been in danger. If I didn鈥檛 know better I wouldve though this song came out in the 50s or something idk.
Mike - I was 100% not expecting this but it's lowkey a bop. Everyone has been very impressive so far so it's gonna be a hard decision for who goes tn but given your immunity one thing for certain, two things for sure. it won't be you. I think this will def be on the lower end of scores but goof thing you have your safety net.
Silver ( silver09) - "I Turn to You" by Christina Aguilera
Darrius - I don鈥檛 know why but this song really took me back, like I feel like I was really in 1999 listening to this. This was a really beautiful song. The ending really ate me. I am adding this to my little Christina library cause I am determined to learn it now. BUT I was VERY strict and the rules stated that the song must be released in 1999 and it wasn鈥檛 so this will effect your score.
Mike - Umm I'm not sure if this song was actually released in 1999??? I've found so many conflicting dates when trying to find out, most of them being release dates in 2000. Aside from the theme though, it is a nice ballad by Xtina and a good song choice.
So with that being said.....the contestant going home is.....NO ONE. Paige would have been going home had it not been for the immunity & Silver would have been "SAFE" had it not been for the points deducted. But all this means is bring your A GAME because you never know when it could be another DOUBLE. Great week guys.
Since I came up with this weeks theme, it is now Mike's turn.
WEEK 6 THEME : We all know what your favorite artists are capable of when it comes to delivery of their own songs. But we want to see how well some of these artists can conquer the songs of others. So for this next theme, we are going to be looking for your favorite COVERS. There is a lonnggggg list of covered songs so think hard and choose wisely because with it coming down to the wire you want to put it all on the table.
the fact this is a cover shocks me everyday, she took poor otis's song and made it her OWN, queen tingz
