NFL Playoff Predictions

Dec 7, 2012 by CHAD814
A lot of people have done these recently. I would have done it last week, but at this point, I'm not feeling too bad about these.

Here we go...

NFC

1. Atlanta
2. Green Bay
3. Seattle
4. Washington
5. Chicago
6. San Francisco

AFC

1. Houston
2. Denver
3. New England
4. Baltimore
5. Pittsburgh
6. Indianapolis

Wild Card Round:

Colts @ Patriots         NE
Steelers @ Ravens    PIT

49ers @ Seahawks   SEA
Bears @ Redskins       CHI

Divisional Round:

Steelers @ Texans      PIT
Patriots @ Broncos    NE

Bears @ Falcons          ATL
Seahawks @ Packers    SEA

Conference Championships:

Steelers @ Patriots        PIT

Seahawks @ Falcons    SEA

Super Bowl

Pittsburgh vs. Seahawks    PIT

-------------------------------------

I'm feeling strangely confident about these predictions, but I know I shouldn't be. Obviously my SB picks are not the two best teams, but when do the best teams ever make it?

I chose two teams that are in the midst of competing for the wild card, so I will feel pretty pathetic if neither of them make the playoffs. I went with SEA winning the NFC West because....

1. I like them
2. Possibility of winning out, and SF losing to them. (And NE)

I chose the Steelers to go all the way because...

1. I like them
2. I love them
3. They're my favorite team

OF COURSE I AM BIASED WITH MY PREDICTIONS.

With NFL playoff predictions, you may as well lean towards your favorite teams. There is no way you can proclaim a champ, ever. This isn't the NBA, which is very predictable most of the time. Literally any team that makes the playoffs has just as much a chance as any other team. I'm not kidding, it's true. I bet Vegas will have New England as favorites, but they may as well all have the same odds. (But of course that would defeat the fun of betting a 40000000/1 Seahawks team.

One thing all of us expert predictors can agree on is that this will be one hell of a wild card (and some divisions) stretch, and an insanely exciting playoffs, just like we see every year.

I can't believe I have resorted to predicting NFL playoffs weeks before the end of the season. This should have been NHL power rankings, or hell, even NHL playoff predictions. But you know...

I guess I'll just tag the same people everyone else is tagging.

I admit you're right about the bias thing, I've noticed that with some people.
I could see the Steelers beating the Ravens, but that's about it lol

i will poop in my pants if the seahawks get anywhere near the superbowl

SSDZ Yeah, hope to see that matchup again.

DCSooner I know they're bound for a wild card spot if anything, but they are not too far away from SF.

Caliboy Well they played in XL. Last year we saw an even more recent matchup.

BrendonByrne No such thing as a bad prediction, in my opinion. Unless you choose Dallas or something.

MikeRORO Steve_Ro We'll see. Once playoffs come, everybody basically has an equal chance, as shown in many of the recent years!

Well the rams are my favorite team too and I am not saying they'll  win the Superbowl but I still think they have a shot at playoffs.

Seahawks wont make it farther than the first round. 49ers and giants to me are the best set up teams in the NFC to make it to the superbowl.

As for the AFC, big ben's rib injury causes concern for me down the road so with that I would say the Texans and Patriots seem to be front runners. However if Ray Lewis can get back to 100 percent then I say the Ravens are in a good position

avatar3939 No way, you say?

Seattle can win the NFC West by...

1. Winning their last four games (3 H 1 A) - Extremely possible. Toughest game is SF.
2. Beating SF(H) (see above) - Rivalry game, could go either way.
3. SF losing one more game. They still have to play NE.

I don't know if it is going to happen, but you can't say there is no way.
--------------

No way Steelers make the Super Bowl? NO WAY??? Have you watched Football at all before?

You also clearly didnt read the blog at all. I said that once the playoffs come, each team is pretty much equal. You have your really good teams, and then you have some hot teams to go along with it.

Plus, they're the Steelers. They've done the unthinkable before, and I definitely won't be surprised if they can go all the way.

but i don't think the steelers are hot right now they got a big victory but they are a good team but i dont think they're THAT good
and when i see "now way" i dont mean now mathmatical way i mean i dont think they'll get it they suck away from home and 49ers are preety good
